Welcome to the 25th Gastech Conference
“We are delighted to be hosting Gastech 2011 in The Netherlands.
Natural gas is an essential component of a sustainable global energy
mix, and vital for meeting increased demand for energy. At Shell,
we are growing our natural gas business, so much so that by 2012
gas will account for around half of our production. Gastech 2011
provides us with an ideal platform to meet and communicate with
our customers and partners from across the global gas industry.”

Peter Voser
CEO, Royal Dutch Shell Plc

“It’s both exciting and inspiring to help create Gastech 2011, which returns to
North-West Europe for the first time since 1993. With superb host support from
Shell and our newly-expanded (and highly-knowledgeable) Governing Body – plus
many of the world’s most respected companies in the gas industry – we’re able to
deliver an event where the quality of conference paper and expertise of speaker is,
truly, second to none. We’ve also logically evolved some of the content, respecting what our past
delegates have asked us to programme and what most accurately reflects the market at present:
unconventional gas impact upon supply, the latest frontier LNG projects, gas trading & origination,
advances in key new technology – to name just a few areas we are covering in detail for 2011. ”

Gavin Sutcliffe
Head of Content, Gastech

Unmissable Conference highlights
This year’s conference covers, for the first time in Gastech’s 38 year history, some new industry
trends that demand careful attention. The unquestionable global impact that unconventional gas
has made on North American energy demand has significant repercussions for the global markets
– especially LNG – and Gastech, in partnership with the Gas Technology Institute (GTI), will be
covering these in fascinating detail throughout the week.

There’s more focus than ever before on the exploration & production of gas and the conference
will focus on the new technologies available to help develop these resources, as gas continues to
play an increasingly vital role in the world’s energy mix. Innovations in the way LNG is produced
and delivered also falls under the spotlight of many of the world’s leading experts – all present
at the Amsterdam RAI for what promises to be the most important meeting for the global gas
industry in 2011.

There is also a unique opportunity to better understand gas trading and origination with a special
stream being run in partnership with the European Federation of Energy Traders (EFET), which
welcomes senior European heads of trading, European regulators and top international producers.
Gas transmission, pipelines and interconnectivity will be scrutinised as European gas supply and
demand issues are contextually debated from a global perspective.

New programme streams for 2011
