TRAINEE (ELECTRICAL), DIPLOMA TRAINEE (CIVIL), ASSISTANT (FINANCE &
ACCOUNTS) AND JUNIOR TECHNICIAN TRAINEE (ELECTRICAL) for its Northern
Region-I Transmission System covering the states U.P., Uttrakhand, Rajasthan, Haryana and
Delhi and Telecom Division as per details given below :-

SELECTION PROCESS

The written test shall be objective type of two hours duration consisting of two parts. Part-I consisting
Professional/Technical Knowledge Test with 120 questions and Part-II consisting of aptitude test with
50 questions.

The venue and date of written examination will be intimated to the eligible candidates through
Admit Card. Candidates will have option to appear in the exam in Hindi/English Medium (Question
Paper will be bilingual excepting questions on test of English language)

Only those candidates who qualify in the written test and shortlisted thereafter as per criteria laid down
by the Management will be called for Trade Test/Computer skill test and personal interview as
applicable for the post in selection process. The final appointment of candidates is subject to their
medical fitness as per company standards.

TRAINING, SERVICE BOND & EMOLUMENTS

The compensation package will also include Basic Pay, DA, HRA and allowances and facilities like
leave encashment, medical assistance, various insurance coverage and pension schemes for regular
employees.

NON-REFUNDABLE APPLICATION FEE

The post-wise application Fee to be paid by candidates is as under :-

Application fee is not required from SC/ST/PH/Ex-Servicemen candidates, provided an


attested copy of relevant certificates issued by the Competent Authority are attached
with the application.

Non-Refundable Application Fee as mentioned above shall be paid by the applicant in the form of
crossed Bank Draft/Indian Postal Order/Banker’s Cheque favouring “POWER GRID
CORPORATION OF INDIA LTD.” payable at New Delhi. Application Fee shall not be refundable for
any reason whatsoever.

RELAXATIONS / CONCESSIONS

1. Reservation / Relaxation / Concessions to SC/ST/OBC/PH/Ex-Servicemen will be applicable as


per Govt. of India guidelines.

2. SC/ST/PH candidates shall be reimbursed second class Rail/Bus fare by the shortest route for to
and fro travel for the purpose of appearing in the test and interview on production of Railway
Ticket No./PNR No./Bus Ticket for inward journey and SC/ST/PH certificate restricted to distance
between the address for communication and nearest test centre.

3. Ex-Servicemen candidates having a minimum six months continuous service is allowed age
relaxation to the extent of period spent in service plus three years subject to condition that the
resultant age after deducting his period of service from his actual age does not exceed the
prescribed age limit by more than three years.

4. Wherever, posts are not reserved for PH but are identified suitable for PH as per Govt.
Notification, they can also apply subject to meeting other eligibility requirements. Age Relaxation
shall be as applicable under GOI guidelines.

GENERAL CONDITIONS

1. Only Indian Citizens are eligible to apply.


2. Minimum age of applicant should be 18 years as on 15.03.2011.
3. Those employed in Govt Department / PSU should apply through Proper Channel or
submit No Objection Certificate at the time of interview. (if shortlisted and called for
interview)
4. Management reserves the right to increase/ relax the level of eligibility criteria for any
of the above posts.
5. Candidates should have sound health. Candidates with Myopia and Hypermetropia
exceeding ± 4.00D for the posts Diploma Trainee(Electrical), Diploma Trainee(Civil) &
Jr. Technician Trainee(Electrical) are not eligible. Candidates having Squint and Colour
blindness (partial or full) are not eligible. No relaxation in health standards is allowed.
6. The application is liable to be rejected if it is not in conformity with given proforma,
incomplete, illegible, and unsigned or without photograph, requisite certificates &
application fee (wherever applicable) or received after closing date.
7. POWERGRID will not be responsible for any Postal delay/ Loss in transit for the
submission of application/ documents within specified time.
8. POWERGRID reserves the right to modify the selection criteria/ recruitment process, if
need so arises, without issuing any further notice/ reason thereof.
9. Banker's Cheque/ D.D. should have validity for 6 months.

HOW TO APPLY

• Interested candidates should send their application strictly in the prescribed format
typed(given below) on A-4 Size Paper with a recent attested photograph affixed on it
along with a non-refundable application fees as mentioned above applicable for their
post. Attested copies of caste/disability certificates, educational qualification and
