To view the PDF files on this CD-ROM, you must have or install Adobe Acrobat
or Reader version 6.0 or higher. If you do not have an Adobe product installed,
you can download Adobe Reader at no charge from the Adobe Web site at
http://adobe.com. The Adobe Reader Online Guide and the information from the
Acrobat help menu provide essential instructions to help you begin using this CD

Getting started

WINDOWS 95, 98, 2000, ME, NT or XP
==================================================================
If your CD-ROM drive does not automatically open, you may access it
by selecting "My Computer" and then selecting the CD-ROM drive
(usually the D:). Once you are in the CD-ROM drive, you can select the
welcome.pdf file to launch this CD or launch Adobe Reader or
Acrobat and open the welcome.pdf file in the root directory of the
CD-ROM drive.
Next click on one of the following links on the "Welcome" screen:
-Continue
-Help
Selecting "Continue" will link to the main table of contents, which
lists all of the sections contained on the CD-ROM.
Selecting "Help" will link to a page containing instructions on how to get to
Adobe Acrobat search tips and technical support information.
We highly recommend that you read this readme.txt file and consult the Adobe Rea
der
guide or Adobe Acrobat help menu.

Double-click on the SEG icon, then double-click on the
welcome.pdf icon.

UNIX (Adding the search index)*
==================================================================
*NOTE: For UNIX users, the search index must be added manually.
The instructions are as follows:
1. Click on the "Search" button in the toolbar. The search dialog box will open.
2. Click on the "Indexes" button.
3. Click on the "Add" button.
4. Select the pdfs directory.
5. Then select the SEG.pdx file from the CD-ROM drive directory.

TIPS ON NAVIGATING
==================================================================
As you move the mouse pointer over the sections in the table of
contents, notice that the pointer changes to the shape of a hand
with a pointing finger. This indicates that this location is a
link to another location. To view a specific section, move the
cursor over the section title, and when the hand with the pointing
finger appears, click the left mouse button, and the contents of the
section will appear. You can click the left mouse button on the left-
hand side of the section (Bookmark) to come back to the table of
contents.
While viewing a section, move the mouse pointer anywhere on
the page. Notice that the pointer is in the shape of an open
hand. When you click the left mouse button, the magnification
will increase. When you click the mouse again, you will scroll
down through the section. When you have reached the end of a
section, from the "File" menu, select "Close" to exit the
section. To continue navigating, from the "Window" menu, select
the appropriate section and proceed as described above.

PREFERENCES SETTINGS

SETTINGS FOR OPTIMIZED FILE MANAGEMENT *
Make sure your preferences are adjusted so that each window
closes as you open another. Having too many windows open will slow
your search speed and may cause older versions of Adobe to fail
temporarily.
To optimize:
1. Select "Edit" from the menu bar.
2. Select "Preferences" (Note: If using full version of Acrobat, go to "General.
")
3. In the "Preferences" window, select "Options" and check "Open Cross-
Document Links in Same Window."
