Sunday, March 13, 2011 ~ Our Holy Grounds Café is a place for light refreshments, coffee and
fellowship on the first and third Sunday’s from 8:30 a.m. - 12 p.m. in our
Fellowship Hall.

~ Our Infant and Toddler Nurseries are available every Sunday from
8 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. They are located on the lower level of the church and
are staffed with our full-time, professional attendants and parent
volunteers.
~ Children's Church for ages four through third grade is offered at the
11 a.m. service and is guided by a parent volunteer. Children will be
dismissed after the Children's Message. Please pick up your children
from the lower level classrooms of the church following worship.

East Stroudsburg UMC hosts Lenten service Wednesday, March 16
at 7:30 p.m. Teen and adult singers are welcome to participate with the

Information and Events
Next Sunday is Breakfast with the Pastor - March 20 at 9:45 a.m. in
the lower level of the church. This is an opportunity to meet with Pastor
Kimes and learn more about East Stroudsburg United Methodist Church,
explore the United Methodist faith, and ask any question you may have
in a relaxed setting. For food planning purposes, please register with the
church office at church@esumc.net or 421-3280. This is one segment of
becoming a new member.
Holy Grounds New Schedule - Coffee and refreshments will now be
served the first and third Sunday of each month from 8:30 a.m. - noon.
If you would be willing to help take care of refreshments on the second
or fourth Sundays, please contact church@esumc.net or 421-3280.
Parents Night Out - Youth Fundraiser: Childcare will be provided at
the church Friday March 18, from 6-10 p.m. There will be games, food,
and fun for all kids up to 6th grade. Our nursery staff will be available

Winter Jam 2011 10 bands for $10 on Thursday, March 17 at the
Sovereign Center in Reading. A group will leave the church by 4 p.m.

Weekly Adult Basketball in Fellowship Hall - Recreational (co-ed)

The OK’s, our 65+ group, meets Monday, March 14 at 11:30 a.m. in

Back-Yard Buddies, our after-school program for students in 2nd and
3 rd grades, meets Tuesday, March 15 at 3:30 p.m. at the church. GIRLS
ONLY this week for our Inner Beauty Bible study. School pickups from
JM Hill and SIES. Let Mrs. Randall know who’s attending for school
pickups.

Monday Night Basketball - Groups meet weekly in Fellowship Hall
learning basic basketball skills and sportsmanship. Children ages 6-8
meet from 6-6:45 p.m and ages 9-12 meet from 6:45-8 p.m. For

Youth Ministries - 7th - 12th Grades

Calling All Parents - Fellowship meals are needed every Thursday
following JAM. The young people eat from 5-6 p.m. If you would be
able to help by cooking or providing a light meal once or twice a school-
year, please contact Scott Kuhnle.
Sunday School - Sunday at 11 a.m. in the Youth Room. We meet
together until 11:15 a.m. then split into Jr. High and Sr. High classes.
Sunday Night Program will be held this Sunday from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m.
Students are invited to participate in a time of games, worship, message,
and small group discussions in the Youth Room.
Confirmation Class 2011 has started. Parents and students can find
information, updates and the necessary forms on the “Confirmation”
page of the Youth Website - www.esumc.net/youth.

Youth Praise Band, which leads our Sunday night worship, practices
every Tuesday evening. Interested instrumentalists and singers should
contact Scott to participate.
Sr. High Outreach is every Wednesday from 2:45 - 5 p.m. All 9th - 12th
grade students are welcome to participate. After-school pick-up in
church vans is available from Stroudsburg Jr. High School.
Thursday Schedule: All youth are invited to participate in the following
weekly events:
• 2:45 - 5 p.m. - JAM is a time for 6th - 8th grade students. After-school
pick-up in church vans is available from JTL, Stroudsburg Middle,
and Stroudsburg Jr. High Schools. Permission forms are required and
available on the JAM Jr. High outreach page of the youth website.
• 5 - 6 p.m. - Fellowship Meal for all 6 th - 12 th grade students. Come
hang out with your friends, meet new people, and share in a meal.
• 6 - 7:30 p.m. - Small Group Bible Studies designed for 7th - 12th
grade students to grow deeper as a disciple of Christ. Groups are
available for Jr. High Girls, Jr. High Boys, and Sr. High.
Youth Fundraising Opportunity: On Friday, March 18 for the Parents
Night Out, we need youth to provide childcare for K-6th grade students.
You will receive an hourly rate to apply towards your retreat or mission
trip costs. Please contact Scott or Sue Randall to sign up.
2011 Summer Trips: Sign-up cards and information are available in the
Youth Room or on the "Forms and Info" page on the youth website.
Please return completed cards to Scott. A non-refundable deposit is
required for the Jr. and Sr. High mission trips and Creation.

Church Wide-Study 24 Hours that Changed the World starts today.

Online Class for Church Wide Study - Is designed to guide you
through the study at flexible times, while providing opportunities to
share with the others enrolled in the course. You can also participate in
live chats that will be determined the first week of the course based on
the best collective times for the group. Email clabar@esumc.net to

Homebound and Care Facility members are happy to be remembered

Training for Visiting Members who are hospitalized, homebound or
in care facilities is Saturday, March 19 from 9:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. If
interested in reaching out to others in Christ who are not able to attend
church, call Peggy, 421-3280 ext. 23, to register.
Blood Pressure Screenings - Sunday, March 20 from 9:30-10 a.m.,
10:45-11:15 a.m., and 12-12:30 p.m. Take some steps to guard your
health by walking over to Fellowship Hall, getting your pressure taken,
and speaking with a nurse about your reading.
Free Colorectal Cancer Screenings will be provided for those eligible
Wednesday, March 23 at 6 p.m. at Pocono Medical Center.

Living with Grief: Spirituality and End-of-Life Care Teleconference is
Tuesday, April 26 from 1-4:30 p.m. at Penn State Cooperative Extension
office (724 Phillips St., Stroudsburg.) To register or for information, call

Stephen Ministry trainees are nearing completion of their
intensive training. The class of six members will be commissioned on
Sunday, April 10 during worship. They have been training since
September and are excited to offer one-on-one Christian care to
individuals who find themselves in a difficult time of life.
Now is the time to request a Stephen Minister for yourself or someone
you know who is in need. Visit the Stephen Ministry table in Fellowship
Hall before and after each service this month. Please take some time to
speak with a Stephen Leader and find out if Stephen Ministry is right for
you or someone you care about.
