HEADLIGHT ACCESSORY
DESCRIPTION
The 8-0815 headlight accessory is designed to tit
Wheel Horse B & C Series tractors, starting with 1978
models, not so equipped. Use only the parts of the
light package called for in the instructions for in-
stallation on each model series.

LIGHT SWITCH INSTALLATION

B-Series:
1. Remove the battery; disconnect the negative
(ground) cable first, then the positive cable.
2. Disconnect the hold down spring and move
the fuel tank forward slightly to provide
working space. Remove the plastic insulator
to expose the dash panel wiring.
3. Remove the plastic plug button from the instru-
ment panel light switch hole.
4. A yellow light switch lead is part of the trac-
tor's wiring harness. Remove the tape securing
the lead to the harness and route it up through
the grommet in the fuel tank support.
5. Connect the yellow lead to a light switch
terminal. Connect the supplied red lead to
the other switch terminal.
6. Route the free end of the lead down through
the frame and out to the front of the tractor,
using the main wiring harness as a routing
guide.
7. Secure the red lead to the frame with one of
the three small clips supplied just forward of
the steering gears where the main wiring
harness is also attached.
8. Use the remaining two small clips to secure
the red lead to the hood as shown in Fig. 1.
Excess wire can be looped and taped to the
hood.
9. Install the light switch in the instrument panel,
with the locking ring to the inside. Install,
but do not tighten the switch nut.
10. Check to insure that all wiring will not be
pinched or contact moving parts. Also check
that the opposite end of the yellow switch
lead is connected to the receptacle on the
right side of the engine, just to the rear of
the starter motor.

C-Series:
1. Remove the battery; disconnect the negative
(ground) cable first, then the positive cable.
2. Remove the plastic plug button from the instru-
ment panel light switch hole.
3. Remove the connector from the ignition switch.
Insert one terminal of the orange (or red)
fused connector into the empty socket of the
plastic connector body for the ignition switch,
until it locks into position. Reinstall the con-
nector on the ignition switch.
4. Connect the other end of the fused connector
to a terminal on the light switch. Connect the
supplied red lead to the other light switch
terminal.
5. Route the free end of the red lead down under
the engine and out to the front of the tractor,
using the main wiring harness as a routing
guide. Secure the red lead to a frame rail
at three places, using the large clips supplied.
6. Use two of the small clips to secure the red
lead to the hood as shown in Fig. 1.
7. Install the light switch in the instrument panel,
with the locking ring to the inside. Install, but
do not tighten, the switch nut.
S. Check to insure that all wiring will not be
pinched or contact moving parts.

HEADLIGHT INSTALLATION - ALL MODELS
1. The hood escutcheon plate can be removed
by breaking off the stems with a screwdriver
tip. Install the two Ys rivets that are held in
place with the push-on nuts; the slotted end
of the nut goes on the rivet first (Fig . 2).
2. Insert the socket wires, springs and bulbs as
shown in Fig. 2.
3. Connect the wire leads to the three wire con-
nectors as shown in Fig. 1.
4. Mount the lens over the opening and secure
with the four machine screws (Fig. 3).

5. Reinstall the battery; connect the positive

cable first, then the negative (ground) cable.
On B-Series tractors, reinstall the plastic insu-
lator and secure the fuel tank back in position .
6. Test the lights. On C-Series tractors, turn the
ignition switch to the run position; the engine
must be operating for the lights to work on
B-Series tractors. If the lights do not work,
recheck connections and the wiring diagram
in your Owner's Manual.
7. Turn the light switch to correspond to the off
and on positions marked on the instrument
Figure 2 panel. Tighten the switch nut.
