Low Temperature Viscometer Bath

Low Temperature Viscometer Bath
Dewar flask, cap. 25 liters, placed in a stainless steel
housing (shock resistant). The Dewar flask has a window on
the back, were a fluorescent illuminator is placed
and a window of 14 cm width on the front. The front window
is heated to prevent condensation (up to 40°C and 85 % rel.
humidity). Top plate consists of special stirrer assembly,
heater, Pt-100 temperature probe, opening for immersion
cooler and lid (round form), which can accommodate
3 viscometers. Behind each Viscometer is a frosted glass
plate to provide diffused light (in combination with
illumination), a digital temperature meter
range: -80 ... + 50 :0.1 °C, accuracy of controller ±0.01 K,
power consumption: 920 Watts. External immersion cooler.

Viscosity Petrotest®
ViscoClock

ViscoClock is an electronic time
measuring unit which provides an
economically priced alternative to fully
automatic capillary viscometer devices.
It consists of a stand made of plastics
to hold the viscometer capillary and of
an electronic time measuring unit. The
two measuring levels are integrated in
the stand in form of a light barrier. They
control the start or stop resp. of the
timer. This way the measured flow-
through time of the tested liquid is
indicated on an easily legible LCD
display and can also be recorded on a
printer or a PC.
The ViscoClock can be placed in
Petrotest viscosity baths
20-0000/0001 or 20-0002/0003 and
allows the use of water, alcohol/water
mixture(e.g. ethanol or methanol)
paraffin oil or silicone oil. It can be
used at bath temperatures up to
+150 °C, while the temperature for the
time measuring unit shall be between
+10 and +40 °C.
ViscoClock, however, accepts
particularly designed Ubbelohde
capillaries with measuring ranges
between 0.35 and 10,000 mm² (cSt)
only.

ViscoClock - Automated Measuring Device

for Ubbelohde Viscometer Capillaries
consisting of an electronic time measuring unit in a plastic housing
with a large LCD indication (resolution = 0.01 sec.) and of a plastic
frame for Ubbelohde capillaries with sensors to measure the flow-
through time of the tested liquid.
The device can be inserted in tempering baths which are filled
with water, alcohol/water (e.g. ethanol or methanol), paraffin oils
or silicon oil.
Permitted temperatures are -40 to +150 °C for the tempering bath
and ambient temperatures between +10 and +40°C for the clock.
Measuring range:
with Ubbelohde capillaries1 0.35 ... 10 000 mm²/s (cSt).
Timer: up to 999.99 seconds, resolution 0.01 s.
accuracy ± 0.01 s/± 1 digit, however min. 0.1 %
