Labour MPs sign motion

The President of the
Labour Party and Efate MP,
Joshua Kalsakau, at 2pm yes-
terday placed his signature
on an Opposition-sponsored
motion of no confidence
against Prime Minister Sato
Kilman.
“I am disappointed that
the Prime Minister never con-
sulted me in the first place as
leader of the Labour politi-
cal party before terminat-
ing Labour MP for Epi, Ioan
Simon, from the ministeri-
al post he held as minister of
Justice ,” Labor Party Pres-
ident Joshua Kalsakau told
Daily Post by phone yester-
day morning.
He went on to say that
the three MPs including him-
self, Ioan Simon and Eta Rory
never signed the no confi-
dence motion as alleged by
the Prime Minister at the time
when PM Kilman terminated
MP Ioan Simon.
“I always supported the
Prime Minister in all the strug-
gles to keep the government
in power but because of what
he had done to the Labour
MP Ioan Simon, I called the
Opposition bloc this morn-
ing (yesterday) to tell them
that I will sign the motion
of no confidence against the
Prime Minister at 2pm today
(yesterday),”he told Daily
Post yesterday morning.
In his reply to the Prime
Minister following his termi-
nation as minister for Justice,
Ioan Simon told the Prime
Minister that he and the two
other Labor MPs including MP
Joshua Kalsakau and MP Eta
Rory never signed a motion of
no confidence Kilman and his

leadership at the time when
he received his termination
letter from the PM.
“I wrote to the Prime Minis-
ter asking on what grounds he
has terminated my appoint-
ment because there was no
evidence that I nor my two
other Labour MPs had signed
the Motion of Trust against his
leadership. In fact we never
signed a motion of no trust
against the Prime Minister at
the time when I received my
termination letter,” Labor MP
Ioan Simon claimed.

the motion of trust at 2pm
today ( yesterday) and the
other two Labor MPs Simon
and Rory will also sign the
motion of trust with the
Opposition bloc.”
