Applications from the eligible candidates are invited for the following posts on the
prescribed form (alongwith detailed qualifications, experience requirements & other relevant
information) obtainable from the office of Registrar, Thapar Hall, PAU, Ludhiana on any working
day from 10.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m. on payment of Rs.300/- for posts at Sr.No.1 to 21, Rs.200/- for
post at Sr.No.22 and Rs.100/- for post at Sr.No.23 to 26 either in cash at the counter or by
sending requisite cost of form in the shape of Bank Draft in favour of the Comptroller, PAU,
payable at Ludhiana along with self addressed envelope (28x12cms) bearing postage stamps of
Rs.40/-. The duly completed application forms with prescribed fee of Rs.800/- (for posts at Sr.No.1
to 3), Rs.600/- (for posts at Sr.No.4 to 6), Rs.500/- (for posts at Sr.No.7 to 21), Rs.300/- for
post at Sr.No.22 and Rs.200/- (for posts at Sr.No.23 & 24) in the shape of Bank Draft/ Indian

Important
1. For Post at Sr.No.1: Outside candidates (other than those working in PAU) can be taken on
deputation.
2. Applications, which are incomplete/ not on the prescribed form/ received after the due date/
received without prescribed application fee shall not be considered. The University shall
not be responsible for any postal delay or loss in transit.
3. Higher start or advance increments can be given to the deserving candidates.
4. In-service candidates should apply through proper channel.
5. For post at Sr.No.1-21, the minimum age of entry is 18 years and retirement age is 60
years.
6. For post at Sr.No.22-26, the age should not be less than 18 years and not more than 37
years as on 1.1.2011. However, relaxation in the upper age for reserve categories shall be
as per Punjab Govt. rules.
7. For posts at Sr.No.2-26: the appointment to these posts shall be co-terminus with the
schemes in which these are provided
8. For Posts at Sr.No.2 to 26: 3% of the posts are reserved for physically handicapped
persons as per rules.
9. For post at Sr.No.19 to 26, Reservation shall be applicable as per Punjab Govt. rules for
SC/ST/BC/ Ex-Serviceman/ Physically Handicapped persons, etc.
10. For post at Sr.No.25: The candidates who had already applied for this post vide
Advt.No.01/2009 dated 22.06.2009, need not apply again.
11. For post at Sr.No.26: The candidates who had already applied for this post in response to
Director Extension Education Notification No.DE.I/2010/51165-315 dated 16.12.2010/
22.12.2010 need not apply again.

Essential

i) B.Sc./ B.Sc.(Agri.)/ B.Sc.(Hons.) at least with second division.

iii) Twelve years experience in teaching/ research/ extension in Agril. Science in a
College/ Institution out of which, at least two years must be as Professor/ equivalent.
iv) Substantial contributions in research and scholarship as evidenced by the quality of
papers published in professional journals of repute, and/or adoption of results of
research innovations in teaching/ extension education.
v) Administrative experience in a teaching/ research post, and ability to organize and
supervise the work of others.

2. Professor of Computer Science

Essential

i) An eminent scholar actively engaged in teaching/ research/ extension with published


work* of high quality and having Ph.D. degree in the subject of Computer Science
and/or Engineering/ Information Technology/ Bioinformatics with good academic
record.
ii) Ten years experience in teaching/ research/ extension education in the area of
Computer Science and/or Engineering/ Information Technology/ Computational
Biology and high performance computing out of which, at least two years should be
as Associate Professor or equivalent in the pay scale of Rs.37400-67000 + AGP
Rs.9000/- and remaining as Assistant Professor or equivalent (The period spent in
obtaining Ph.D. degree will not be counted as research experience).
iii) Matric level certificate of Punjabi language (If not the candidate is required to pass
the same within one year of appointment).

ii) Master’s degree in Nanotechnology/ Chemical Engineering or Technology/ Chemical

OCPA of 6.50/ 10.00 or 65% marks.
iii) Candidate must have either worked on topic related to Nanotechnology/
Nanomaterials/ Nanodevices during post-graduate programme or have published
research work related to these topics.

equivalent at least with second division.

iii) Matric level certificate of Punjabi language (if not, the candidate is required to pass

iv) Must have qualified National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by ASRB/ UGC/ CSIR

12. Assistant Research Engineer (P&FE)

i) B.Tech. in Agricultural Engineering at least with second division.


ii) M. Tech. in Processing & Food Engineering/ Processing & Agril. Structure/ Agro
Industrial processing with minimum OCPA of 6.50/ 10.00 or 65% marks.
iii) Matric level certificate of Punjabi language (If not, the candidate is required to pass
the same within one year of appointment).
iv) Must have qualified National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by ASRB/ UGC/ CSIR

1) Research, Teaching & Extension in the area of Processing & Food Engineering

13. Assistant Professor of Civil Engineering

i) Second Class Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering

the same within one year of appointment).

marks.
iii) Matric level certificate of Punjabi language (If not, the candidate is required to pass
the same within one year of appointment).
iv) Must have qualified National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by ASRB/ UGC/ CSIR
by the date of interview.

Job responsibilities

1) Research work in the area of Soil & Water Engineering.


2) Teaching/ Extension Education duties as assigned.

16. Assistant Research Engineer (S&WE)

i) B.Tech. in Agril. Engg./Civil Engg. at least with second division


ii) M.Tech. in Soil & Water Engineering with minimum OCPA of 6.50/10.00 or 65%
marks.
iii) Matric level certificate of Punjabi language (If not, the candidate is required to pass
the same within one year of appointment).
iv) Must have qualified National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by ASRB/ UGC/ CSIR

17. Assistant Professor (English)

i) At least graduate with second division.

iv) Must have qualified National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by ASRB/ UGC/ CSIR

18. Assistant Professor of Computer Science

i) Graduate in Science/ Information Technology/ Computer Science and/or


Engineering/ Computer application at least with second division.

Engineering with minimum OCPA of 6.50/ 10.00 or 65% marks.

i) Atleast second class Graduate or an M.A. or equivalent of a recognized University.


ii) Must have passed SAS Examination held by the Comptroller and Auditor General of
India/ State Finance Department OR Higher Standard Departmental Examination
conducted by PAU
iii) Must have served in supervisory capacity not below the rank of Superintendent
Grade-I (Rs.7220-11660 unrevised scale) (Rs.10300-34800 and Grade Pay of
Rs.5000/- with initial pay of Rs.18450/- revised scale) on regular basis for a period of
four years out of which he/she must have two years experience of financial
management/ administration in the capacity of Assistant Accounts Officer/ Assistant
Registrar or equivalent in a Govt. Office or educational institution preferably in a
University with good record of service.

Essential

i. MBBS or any equivalent degree recognized by the Medical Council of India obtained

law in India.

ii. Matric level certificate of Punjabi language (If not, the candidate is required to pass
the same within one year of appointment).

Desirable

Preference will be given to M.D. with atleast two years experience.

21. Admn-cum-Accounts Officer & equivalent

i) Atleast Graduate
ii) Must have passed SAS Examination or Higher Standard Departmental Examination
conducted by PAU for its own employees
iii) Must have served in supervisory capacity not below the rank of Superintendent
Grade-I (Rs.7220-11660 unrevised scale) (Rs.10300-34800 and Grade Pay of
Rs.5000/- with initial pay of Rs.18450/- revised scale) on regular basis for a period of
two years in a Govt. office or educational institution preferably in a University with
good record of service.
iv) Must have passed Matriculation examination with Punjabi as one of the Compulsory
or elective subject or any other equivalent examination in Punjabi language, which
may be specified by the PAU from time to time.

Desirable: Experience of Administrative, budgetary and accounts work

knowledge of Punjabi up to Matric
OR
B.A./B.Sc./BCA/B.Com/BBA second Class with three years experience as Store
Keeper in Govt. or autonomous body or Limited/ Private Limited Company with
knowledge of Punjabi up to Matric
OR
10+2 First Division with two years Diploma in Store Keeping/ Material Management
or equivalent from recognized institution with three years experience as Store
Keeper in Govt. or autonomous body or Limited/ Private Limited Company with
knowledge of Punjabi up to Matric
OR
10+2 with Science/ Matric with one year Diploma/ Certificate in Store Keeping/
Material Management or equivalent from recognized Institution with five years
experience as Store Keeper in Govt. or autonomous body or Limited/ Private Limited
Company with knowledge of Punjabi up to Matric.

Desirable: Working knowledge of computer

Job requirements:

Store keeper have to maintain stock register, stock entry as well as requirement of
store articles from time to time, maintenance of inventory register and maintenance
of register of consumable/ unconsumable articles and he has to keep the stock
register up to date as per store articles/ requirements. Store Keeper has to prepare
the list of unserviceable items for auction & other duties assigned by the officers
from time to time.

Note 2The selection to the post of Clerk will be made through written test of 85 marks
comprising of Punjabi, English, Arithmatics of Matric standard consisting of 20
marks of each paper and General Knowledge consisting of 25 marks shall be
prescribed. The candidates will have to qualify the written test with atleast
60% marks in aggregate but minimum 40% marks in each subject. The
candidate having passed the written test with the above aggregate shall be
eligible for interview. The merit list of candidates to be selected for
appointment shall be prepared on the basis of aggregate marks obtained by
them in the written test for which 85 marks shall be allotted and the marks
obtained in the interview for which15 marks shall be allotted.

Note 3The candidates appointed on the basis of merit list shall be required to qualify the
typewriting test in Punjabi with a speed of 30 words per minute within one
year of their appointment failing which they will cease to earn their future
annual increments till they pass this test.

Important Notes

1. For post at Sr.No.1.


(i) The term good academic record with Ph.D. degree shall imply that the
candidate possesses at least second division at Master’s degree level.
(ii) Outside candidates (other than those working in PAU) can be taken on
deputation.
2. Applications, which are incomplete/ not on the prescribed form/ received after the
due date/ received without prescribed application fee shall not be considered.

Attested copies of the Certificates regarding proof of handicapped and extent

medical certificate that the applicant is otherwise fit for the post he/she is
applying for. However, if eligible persons are not found available in response
to this advertisement, the posts will be filled out of other category/ categories
and the points meant for persons with disabilities shall be carried forward for
being filled from future vacancies
