Systems Accountant

JOB DESCRIPTION

XXX runs an Agresso financial system. Reporting to the Deputy Finance


Director, the main responsibilities of the post holder are as follows:

• Run the systems support team including management of one full time
member of staff
• Manage the provision of first line and business process helpdesk for users
• System administration to include month, period and year end procedures,
extracting information for strategic planning and statutory requirements and
general ‘housekeeping’ tasks
• Support to Finance Office staff in completing transaction processing and data
extraction
• Development of a comprehensive set of reports covering all users from
departmental budget holders to strategic managers
• Develop business processes to ensure best use of the system and efficient
use of resources and ensure this is fulfilled via application configuration / setup
• Liaise with the supplier over business issues
• Participate in higher education user groups
• Offer periodic training to users (including for new users)
• Maintain the documentation of business processes and system use
• Investigate the business implications of upgrades and patches and liaise with
technical colleagues on their implementation and application. Manage periodic
updates to the system with appropriate support from consultants and from IT
services
• Periodically test and review business continuity procedures
• Assure the quality of business processes and data
• Contribute to the ongoing development of management reporting mechanisms.
