Clinical graders reported the following significant improvements over baseline:

• Reduced appearance of small blood vessels (telangiectasias) on the skin’s surface at six and
12 months
• Reduced solar damage at six months

Additionally, a higher percentage of subjects within the Tegreen 97 group had moderate or greater
improvements in photoaging at 12 and 24 months compared to the placebo group, as determined by a
clinical grader.

The VISIA Complexion Analysis System revealed that the Tegreen 97 group showed a significant
difference in “spots” under visible and UV light at 12 months.

About the Study

Scientists from Stanford and Nu Skin were interested in evaluating the long-term effects of green tea
on specific characteristics of facial skin and randomly administered 250 mg of Pharmanex Tegreen
97 or a placebo to 56 women twice daily for two years. The subjects’ skin was tested by a clinical
grader, by the VISIA Complexion Analysis System and by the subjects themselves at six-, 12- and
24-month intervals.

This largest clinical trial reported to date on the subject was published in Dermatological Surgery
(May 2009) and presented at the 67th annual meeting of the American Academy of Dermatology
(AAD) in San Francisco in March.

Authors of the study include Wingfield Rehmus, M.D., Roohina Janjua, M.B.B.S, Claudia Munoz,
M.D., and Anne Chang, M.D., from the Department of Dermatology at Stanford School of Medicine;
Barbara Egbert, M.D., from the Department of Pathology at Stanford School of Medicine; and Dale
Kern, senior scientist at Nu Skin.
