Greeting to all Brothers and Sisters in the name of our Lord Jesus
Christ! Love is one of the most powerful forces in the universe and for
us to fully develop and be all God intended we need to love and be
loved. When we experience love from God and others we grow, develop
and progress. The power of love is truly amazing, it can transform us
into people of great worth and beauty. It should not surprise us that
the Bible says God is love and love is the greatest.
In order to grow in love as a church we need to be intentional and actively work at building
love. One simple way to do this is for each of us to make an extra effort to reach out to
others in love every time we meet at church or smaller meetings. Make an effort to try to
meet new people and be on the lookout for those who are lonely or on their own. You will be
amazed at how much more you will enjoy church and other gatherings and the great people
you will get to know. To grow in love we first need to know how much God loves us.
Much Love,
First of all, I would like to give deep respect and honor to Our God Jesus Christ for
choosing me to do his servant since I was In the U.S.A. In this privilege I am still and
ever obeying His call even He had provided me a position in the Government as a
Senator of Cambodia. However, I am working with all my heart, mind, soul and
strength to Him, the Lord faithfully.
Other hand we had coordinated and joint with all of their (Love Sonata) activities to
give a good result appeared like today. Praise the Lord. In the book of Galatians 5:13-
14 wrote that “13 For you have been called to live in freedom not freedom to satisfy
your sinful nature, but freedom to serve one another in love. 14 For the whole law can
be summed up in this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.”
I hope that Crusade today had brought us as a Protestant churches to come to join
together and love to each other, especially this Crusade will bring our God savior to
the non believers in Cambodia so that they will become a Christian like us.
I am so proud on this occasion for joining Love Sonata Crusade! And would you
please, accept the respects and honor from me in the name of Our Lord Jesus Christ.
My our Lord Jesus Christ bless you all.

Dear my brothers and sisters, fellow workers in Christ. I warmly greet you in
the name of the Lord, Jesus Christ, my Savior. I am Ezra Hyun Kim, Korean
American missionary at Phnom Penh, Cambodia. I was born and raised in
Seoul, Korea and went to USA on the year of 1980 for biblical and theological
study to serve the Lord. Since then I had lived and serve in USA as minister and
professor until I came to Cambodia 5 years ago as a full time missionary of
Cambodia from Gospel Presbyterian Church in USA, where Korean American
congregations have been dearly supporting me for my Cambodia mission. Since
the year of 2005 up to present I have been serving as Dean and recently
appointed as the interim Chancellor for International Theological College and
Seminary, Phnom Penh, Cambodia, established 3 years ago. With the Excellency
Ung Ty, currently I also have a privilege to work as adviser and board director
of Foreign Affairs in the Cambodia Christian Protestant Community (CCPC) as well.
First of all, I would like to extend my warmest gratitude to my Lord, Jesus Christ as well as all the
members of the CCPC, particularly the Excellency Senator Ung Ty, for I have a precious opportunity to
explain brief sketch of the mission of the CCPC and its importance to Cambodia Christians. In this column,
I would like to share on my humble thoughts concerning the necessity of the CCPC to Cambodian
Christianity where many Cambodian Christian leaders and foreign missionaries have been involved in,
but have ignored the importance of their involvement in the CCPC, either intentionally or
unintentionally. I wish that the readers may understand better the identity of the CCPC, so that they may
work together univocally for inevitable Cambodia mission near future, which is my humble prayer.
Nowadays, particularly at the many countries in Asia, there have been numerous reported incidents of
serious religious crashes that cost many innocent religious human lives. In the midst of religious conflicts
at anywhere, for the sake of the welfare of Christians, the Christianity must raise the unified voice on any
critical situation. Otherwise, there would not be any safeguard for Christians. The nation of Cambodia has
not been an exception for possible and imminent conflicts among religions, witnessing all the religious
confrontations throughout Asia. Thus, the Christianity of Cambodia must have a solid agency to
represent its unified voice, that is, Cambodia Christian Protestant Community (CCPC). The CCPC is the
legitimate and formidable legal channel to represent this unified voice of Christianity in Cambodia Inter-
Religious Council (CIC) officially endorsed by Cambodia government, Parliaments, and Senators on the
year of 2002. Therefore, it goes without saying that every Christian is heavily obligated to join and
support the CCPC in order to speak out for the consistent welfare of each Christian in Cambodia. The CCPC
is neither political organization nor any private Christian organization such as a denomination or a
private Christian association. Further, the CCPC is not a mere Christian fellowship assembly either. It is
definitely the only legal representative of the entire Cambodia Protestant Christianity, neither governed
by the Cambodia government nor by any private organization, but only governed by the legitimate
representatives of Cambodia Protestant Christians as whole.
2. Why is the CCPC so important for Cambodia Christians?
The CCPC, as representative of Christianity in Cambodia, is obligated to speak truly for the sake of the
whole Protestant Christianity welfare in Cambodia to the government or to any other religions as to
concerned issues among Protestant Christianity. Its vitality, necessity, and availability of the CCPC for
the welfare of Cambodia Christians cannot be too much emphasized here. It is imperative for us to
support the CCPC.
By the grace of God, during last decade the Christianity in Cambodia has rapidly grown in considerable
numbers as well as Christian enterprises such as evangelism, church plantings, Christian education
institutes and so forth. Thus, it goes without saying that there are many Christian involved in various
Christian organizations: various denominational Churches and education institutions, many Christian
charity NGO’s, and so forth. The more the diverse enterprises of Christianity are implemented, most
likely, the more problems or conflicts would be inevitably increased, confronting with other religion’s
interest or government officers’ prejudice on Christianity. Here, then, a crucial question comes: Who and
what can effectively help Christians (you) in the deep troubles and bring them concrete solution for those
(your) problems? Is the denomination that you are affiliated with can be helpful? Or are there any
private Christian associations to solve your imminent problems? Otherwise, will it be Ministry of Cult and
Religion working for your side? If you think so, please, wake up! You may dream of it! It is not a smart
choice for you to choose one of them to solve your problem. Let me tell you the answer for you, it is
nothing but the CCPC, which is the only officially recognized channel to speak out for the sake of yourself
and contains sufficient authority to solve your immediate troubles, as if it may work as your angel. How
about that? Isn’t it wonderful? So far, the CCPC has effectively solved various troubles of local or foreign
ministers, working effectively with government officers, judges, and local authorities better than any
other Christian organizations. The CCPC has bunch of cases solved in conflicts. Thus, I urge you in the
name of Lord, every Christians and organization must join in the CCPC, work hand to hand, and raise
your legitimate voice univocally in the name of the entire Cambodia Christianity to the government
officers or other religious leaders whom you ought to deal with. I believe univocal cooperation should be
done through the CCPC that God has given us opportunity to defend our faith. Again, this unified
cooperation in Cambodian Christianity is my humble pray for Cambodia Christians.
Deuteronomy 1: 19-33 speaks for not only the Israelites but also contemporary Cambodian Christian and
their spiritual leaders. Here God emphatically declares solid biblical reasons to be victorious for His
people, Israelites, in the midst of the troublesome times, confronting the cruel Amorites, which was
unquestionably enormous challenge to the Israelites. Therefore, God repeatedly proclaim His words: “Do
not be terrified and do not be afraid.” These words of God encourage me the most whenever I am in
troublesome times. Here I desire to share with you few biblical principles from the Scripture, carrying
enormous task of the CCPC. Why is our victory possible in the midst of trials? For responding to that
matter, we ought to pay attention to what God said about our mission each of us. As I am a member of
the CCPC, I want to draw vital messages from the Scripture for the sake of the CCPC and share them with
you. There is valuable lesson to draw our attention:
Firstly, it is God who is giving His promise of victory to the Israelite against Amorites, the formidable
Challenge at that time (v.20). It was an impossible task for Israelites to conquer over them, but God simply
demands for their belief upon God’s promise. It takes only belief for victorious life! Although the CCPC,
thus, will have confrontation with various impediments to fulfill God’s solemn tasks of unifying the entire
Christians in Cambodia, I have confidence that as time goes by, in our belief, God will bring to us an
incorporated spirit through the CCPC over whatever the hindrances may lie among us, eventually, the
CCPC will be victorious against anything at all, even other religions, for the sake of the whole Cambodia
Protestant Christianity. The CCPC will be used as sharpen sword in spiritual warfare throughout the all
areas of Cambodia.
Secondly, it is God who is fighting for the Israelites before their very eyes (v.30). This is again a solemn
promise of God to His people. Did Israelites have enough armaments and human resources to bring a war
against this mighty Amorites? Absolutely not! The Israelites did not even have basic battle weaponry to
fight against Amorites at all. However, there is absolute assurance: God promises to fight for the Israelite,
which surely brings the victory to the Israelite. “If God is for us, who can be against us?” (Rom. 8:31). This
assurance of victory with God shall be implemented in the work of the CCPC through Jesus Christ whom
we believe, in spite of numerous ordeals laid ahead of us. As if we were the soldiers of God in biblical time
of Deuteronomy, in fighting through our troubles, God will fight against evils for us by Himself. What an
incredible blessing we have! Let us believe it!
Thirdly, it is God who is carrying the Israelites out of imminent troubles and difficulties. The Israelite has
been with His mighty presence of the pillars of fire and cloud in the midst of Israelites, that is, Immanuel
(v.31;33). I am convinced that God is carrying the CCPC in the midst of troubled days, as much as God
promised with the Israelites. The Cambodia Protestant Christians have presently had numerous
challenges within the circle of Christianity: separation and egotistic independence due to diverse
denominations, private church associations, independent education institutes, private enterprise and so
forth. Consequently, there is not a single unified voice which may cause to draw serious attention from
any other religious leaders, to whom we must raise our voice together and demand audaciously for
defense of our faith. Let us believe that God will expectedly carry us to the victorious journey with His
presence of the Holy Spirit through our difficult paths. No doubt that the CCPC, eventually, will be
victorious at the end in the Spirit of God.
Considering these biblical principles, I cannot think anything else, but God is blessing Cambodia for sure,
despite all the challenges and difficulties that Cambodia Christianity presently bears: Now, God is giving
all Cambodian Christians the solemn promises for the welfare of Cambodia Christianity in fulfilling His
glorious redemptive plan; God is fighting for Cambodian Christians against any confrontations and
afflictions; God is being with Cambodians through the Holy Spirit every day.
Knowing these blessings over Cambodia, I am sure that God must have a particular providence for the
existence of the CCPC endorsed by the Holy Spirit. I am convinced that God is using the CCPC as
indispensable means to accomplish His glorious redemption throughout Cambodia. This is my belief and
vision through my honest prayer and personal experiences with the members of the CCPC.
Cambodia is indeed offering an enormous opportunity for God’s glorious mission to be accomplished
(“Great Commission,” Matthew 28: 18-20) not only to local church ministers but also to foreign
missionaries. We must responsibly work together in the name of the Lord, Jesus Christ and univocally act
in terms of the defense of Christianity without demanding an identical denominational faith or theology.
The Cambodian Christian must be unified in the name of Protestant Christianity Protestant Community
(CCPC), which is required by the law and regulation of Cambodian. Honorable readers! I sincerely request
your prayer over the CCPC for its faithful work only in the name of the Lord and oneness of heart in the
servant hood of the Lord beyond any Christian denominations or affiliations, or even biblical and
theological institutions.
Let us remember this Scripture, which is the voice of God to us today: “Make every effort to keep the unity
of the Spirit through the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit-just as you were called to one
hope when you were called-one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father all, who is over all and
through all and in all.” (Ephesians 3:3-6)
We are members of Cambodian Christian Protestant Community (CCPC) want to say thanks to our
Lord Jesus Christ that He always does the miracles in our community. We also would like to say
thanks to our brothers and sisters in Christ for spending the time to read our newsletter and give us
the good ideas to establish our newsletter better. May our Lord Jesus Christ bless you all heaps!
