Application
MK solenoid butterfly air valves are designed for high-low control of air flow for
combustion systems. The high-capacity butterfly valves have adjustable high and
low flow stops to simplify system setup. The continuous duty capability of the
solenoid operators makes them ideally suited for the continuous cycling of frequency
firing control systems.

A full wave rectifier located in the terminal box converts incoming AC current to DC.
Power consumption is the same on start-up and during continuous operation.

Materials of Construction
MK solenoid butterfly valves have pressure die-cast aluminium alloy solenoid hous-
ings, class 40 gray cast iron butterfly bodies and discs, and stainless steel shafts
with graphite packing rings. Electrical terminal boxes have two 1⁄2" NPT connections
and two grounding screws. Terminals will accept a maximum wire gauge of #14.

Special Features
Adjustable maximum and minimum flow: Individually adjustable stops in the
valve drive unit permit precise field adjustment of high and low flows.
Normally open or normally closed operation: Valves are solenoid-operated
with spring return and can be configured in the field to either open or close on
actuation of the solenoid.
Preheated air: Special models for preheated air are available.

Mass flows will decrease at higher temperatures, line pressures and altitudes.
