Research Proposal

Title: A Feasibility Study of the Total Quality Management in Fast-food Industry with a Case
Study in Pizza Hut London.

The purpose of this research project is to gain inside information about the adoption of the
philosophy of TQM and lean management in the organization. The implementation of these
techniques will help the organization to improve and maintain the quality and efficiency of the
products produced in the manufacturing place.

To gain inside information about the implementation of the TQM and lean management to
improve the profitability of the organization, the research will focus on the four main study
objectives namely;

Objective 1: To examine whether company management has adopted the philosophy of


TQM.

Objective 2: To assertion the key aspects of maintaining and improving the quality
standards in the organization.

Objective 3: To assertion the key aspects of manufacturing operations and process with a
reduction of waste and improving efficiency.

PROCESS OF RESEARCH

The process of research is divided into three phases. In the first phase topic of the study was
selected and then planning was done to complete the process of the project. The next phase
comprises of secondary and primary research, and also efforts were made to develop
conceptual framework and theories. The third phase dealt with the analysis of data and
discussion with existing studies that leads to fulfill the objective of the study.

Research type:
The Research type is Descriptive analysis based. It is also a survey and case study,
considering the Pizza Hut restaurants in London examination.

Research population
A sample of the statistical population of Pizza Hut London managers and staff are selected
for analysis.

Data Collection tools:

Journals, e-journals, Text books, e-books, Questionnaire, Observation, Interview

Chapters Design

Chapter 1: Introduction about the research process

Chapter 2: the literature on the subject of the study is reviewed, the reviewed material is
classified and the contribution of previous work towards this study is addressed, this chapter
provides the bases for designing the frameworks included in chapter 3 which interns
provides the new methodology to be developed.

Chapter 3: the research methodologies, theoretical and executive frameworks of the study
are developed. The statistical tools and techniques used for analysis are determined and the
approaches for validity and reliability of the data analysis are addressed, the questionnaire
needed for supporting the methodology is designed in this chapter and the statistical
population and sample selection are presented.

Chapter 4: the proposed methodology is employed in Pizza Hut London. The data gathered
from the questionnaire are analyzed. Finally the results of the implementation of the new
methodology in Pizza Hut London.

Chapter 5: The major conclusions and recommendations are presented and subjections fpr
future studies are pointed out.
