BIOACT EC-7 Defluxer
Description BIOACT EC-7 Defluxer is a blend of highly-refined terpenes and
nonionic surface-active agents formulated to offer effective cleaning at
ambient temperature and a high flux-loading capacity. It is ideal for
removing rosin flux and reflowed solder paste residues from a variety of
substrates.

BIOACT EC-7 Defluxer was developed so that it combines high

performance solvent cleaning with water rinsing and drying to give
optimal SIR and ionic cleanliness results. BIOACT EC-7 Defluxer has
been EPA/IPC/DoD Phase 2 approved and may be used as a replacement
for chlorofluorocarbons (CFC’s) in military and Bellcore applications with
improved cleaning results.

Applications BIOACT EC-7 Defluxer is specifically designed for removal of rosin flux
and solder paste residues in electronics applications. The product also
successfully removes SA, OA (water-soluble) and most no clean flux
residues. It may be used on a variety of substrates including surface
mount and plated-through-hole assemblies.

force, hand wipe, or other.

Compatibility BIOACT EC-7 Defluxer is compatible with most epoxies, flex laminates,
and other cross-linked polymers. It does not affect cured solder mask, and
testing has shown the effect of BIOACT EC-7 Defluxer on RTV silicone,
polystyrene, and polycarbonate to be comparable to that of chlorinated or
fluorinated solvents. Electronic components and encapsulants must be
compatible with total immersion water rinsing.

BIOACT EC-7 Defluxer is not recommended for use in high lead solder
applications.
