Why LED lighting is so important

There are many benefits that the use of this new technology will carry in the near future.
First, LED lamps provide energy savings by about 70% compared to traditional lamps and
simultaneously emit high and precise illumination with a white light and low heat. LED lamps
have an expectancy life greater then traditional bulb and don’t have light pollution. Other
advantages of LED technology are the time of ignition, effectively instantaneous and the total
absence of flicker of the light beam that often characterize the traditional light fittings. LED lamps
are compact, easy to install and require little maintenance. This technology helps to reduce
substantially the energy bill and greatly reduces air pollution. LED lighting: where to apply.

LED - LIGHT EMITTING DIODE
Until few years ago the LED, or light emitter diode, was regarded as a tiny source of coloured light that can emit low_flow with low values
of luminous efficency and therefore only suitable for signaling equipment and systems and for decorative lighting of small objects. It seemed
not to be used for ambients lighting, also of small dimensions.
Instead, developments have been surprising: in the last five years has tripled the value of luminous efficency (from 30lm/W to over 100lm/W
at present) and this value is growing up with other benefits of great interest for light designer. The recent history of LED shows a
typical process of rapid technological evolution that has relaunched a product considered for a long time “Niche”.
In the meddle 90’s started innovations that would allow the use of LED in lighting ambients. In Japan, at the research center of electronics
company Nichia, a researcher (Shuji Nakamura) was able to in crease the lumen output of blue LED. Already existed LED capable of
emitting red, green and amber light.
The advent of blue LED high flux has permitted, using three primary colours (red, green and blue ie RGB), to generate heterochromatic light,
white tone, useful for lighting ambients. Nakamura himself experienced in those years another way to generate white light that would have
been a great success: the light emitted from blue LED was partially filtered by a special coating of phosphorous on the pad of the
semiconductor (chip) to obtain a conversion into yellow radiation, that with the remaining blue, it appear to our eyes as white colour.
Over the years the development of lighting technology has brought the world of LEDs to address the problem of the CRI
Colour Rendering (color rendering index)
The shades of color you use most often and who reach a suitable CRI / RA 93 are:
Warm light 3000°k, neutral light 4000°k and cold light 6000°k.
A high index of CRI / RA should not affect the efficiency values of the same LED.

LED - LIGHT EMITTING DIODE
LEDs are a special type of junction diode p-n formed by a thin layer of doped semiconductor
material. When subjected to a forward voltage to reduce the potential barrier of the junction,
electrons, in the semiconductor conduction band, recombine with holes of the valence band,
releasing enough energy to produce photons. Because of the reduced thickness of the chip,
a reasonable number of these photons can leave it as light. LEDs are made of GaAs
(gallium arsenide), GaP (gallium phosphide), GaAsP (gallium arsenide phosphide), SiC
(silicon carbide) and GaInN (gallium nitride and indium). The exact choice of the
semiconductor determines the peak photons emission wavelength and then light intensity
output.
LEDs are compose of various conventional inorganic materials that produce following
colours:
• AlGaAs - red and infrared

• GaAIP - green
• GaAsP - red, red-orange, orange and yellow
• GaN - green and blue
• GaP - red, yellow and green
• ZnSe - blue
• InGaN - blue-green, blue
• InGaAlP - red-orange, orange, yellow and green
• SiC as substrate - blue
• Diamante (C) - ultraviolet
• Silicio (Si) as substrate - blue (developing)
• Zaffiro (Al2 O3) as substrate - blue

Per ogni controversia si intende competente il Foro di Brescia.

INSTALLAZIONE DEI PRODOTTI A LED

Non collegare mai i sistemi a LED con l’alimentatore in funzione.
Non collegare mai sistemi a 1 LED con alimentatori realizzati per pilotare serie maggiori di 1 LED.
Per una maggiore resa di alcuni prodotti consigliamo una sufficiente areazione nella parte posteriore
del prodotto o in corrispondenza del dissipatore.
La resa luminosa e la durata dei prodotti con tecnologia LED variano a seconda della temperatura e
dell’ambiente in cui vengono installati. Possono migliorare in condizioni di temperature standard 25°C,
mentre possono essere penalizzate dalle temperature elevate.
I prodotti realizzati con parti in alluminio anodizzato possono essere soggetti ad usure in presenza di
sostanze acide o basiche.
Per un utilizzo corretto dei prodotti ideati per uso esterno consigliamo di consultare il nostro ufficio tecnico.
ISTRUZIONI PER LAMPADINE A LED

Il prodotto è costruito con i migliori materiali e secondo le migliori tecniche del momento, che garantiscono
una lunga durata senza alcuna manutenzione. Per l’installazione della lampadina Led ad alta tensione
leggere attentamente le seguenti istruzioni:
1) Maneggiare con cura e serrare delicatamente nel portalampada
2) Non utilizzare il prodotto se danneggiato o in caso di protezione trasparente difettosa
3) Non manomettere: pericolo di scossa
4) Non installare in luoghi umidi o bagnati o in faretti con infiltrazioni d’acqua
5) Verificare l’apparecchio prima della sostituzione
6) Tenere lontano da fonti di calore
7) La durata di vita e le prestazioni del prodotto possono variare in relazione alle condizioni dell’ambiente
circostante
8) Non guardare direttamente la lampadina
9) Non fissare la lampadina a distanza ravvicinata
10) In caso di dubbi o malfunzionamenti consultare il personale specializzato
11) Non regolare con dimmer
12) Smaltire in appositi contenitori, non disperdere nell’ambiente
13) Conservare queste istruzioni per usi futuri
ISTRUZIONI DI UTILIZZO E DI INSTALLAZIONE ALIMENTATORI LED

Gli alimentatori a corrente costante devono essere utilizzati unicamente per LED di potenza che hanno la
stessa corrente indicata sugli alimentatori. Il numero massimo di LED da collegare all’alimentatore dipende dal
tipo di LED utilizzato. Collegare i LED rossi, verdi e gialli nel numero massimo indicato sull’alimentatore, collegare i
LED bianchi e blu sempre un numero in meno rispetto a quello indicato sull’alimentatore. Collegare sempre tutti i LED in serie.
Gli alimentatori a tensione costante devono essere collegati a gruppi di LED con regolatori di corrente incorporati o
con resistenze in serie. Rispettate la potenza massima del carico e le tensioni indicate.
Fare sempre attenzione alla polarità del secondario. Installare il sistema lontano da fonti di calore e in luoghi
ben areati. Minima distanza dai LED 10cm. Protezione termica: se la temperatura supera i valori limite, l’alimentatore
si disinserisce e dopo pochi secondi si autoripristina. Evitare cortocircuiti sul lato secondario e togliere tensione prima di
collegare tutti i LED al sistema. Serrare correttamente la vite dei morsetti senza stringere con troppa forza, oppure utilizzare
un avvitatore elettrico “ a coppia” regolabile. Per il collegamento dei LED utilizzare sempre un cavo di sezione da 0.5 a 1.5mm²
per lunghezze fino a 10m. Utilizzare sezioni maggiori per lunghezze superiori a 10m in ogni caso non superare i 30m.
Per il cablaggio in entrata utilizzare un cavo H03VVH2F 2x0.75 o un cavo adatto all’apparecchio.
USO GRAVOSO: ridurre il carico dal 10% al 20% rispetto a quello massimo indicato per tutti i tipi di apparecchi.
Controllare la temperatura massima di lavoro sul punto tc.
