Course: Canadian Investment Funds Course (New)

Terms and Conditions

***Students must obtain a contract number and password


prior to completing enrolment to receive the IFIC member rate
on all IFSE courses. Failure to obtain the contract information
will result in being charged the non-member rate and IFSE
may not issue a refund. Please check with your employer prior
to completing this enrolment.***

Successful completion of the Canadian Investment Funds


Course fulfils the education requirement necessary for
attaining a mutual funds sales license in Canada. In order to
apply for a mutual funds sales license, an applicant must be
employed by a recognized dealer and complete the application
requirements established by their provincial securities
commission. For more information students should contact
their provincial securities commission.

1. To successfully complete the CIFC course, students are


entitled to three exam attempts or one year from the date of
registration.

2. The 12 month enrollment period is effective for a period of


12 months from the date on which you register. The
registration date is available by contacting Education Services.

3. IFSE must receive an exam scheduling request at least 10


calendar days prior to (and not including)the selected
examination date. Students may book their examination by
logging onto www.IFSE.ca. If you are unable to attend the
scheduled examination sitting you may reschedule your
examination to the next available date. A fee will be applied if
your request to reschedule your exam is received less than 10
calendar days prior to (and not including) the existing exam
date. IFSE does not cancel examination sessions.
4. Students who do not attend a scheduled exam sitting will
have forfeited that exam attempt and will be charged a no-
show fee and given a grade of zero (0).

5. A student's first exam scheduling is included in the course


enrolment fee. Any subsequent scheduling, re-scheduling or
re-writes are subject to the applicable fees. A list of fees is
available in IFSE’s website @ www.ifse.ca. Electronic devices
should not be brought to the examination session. They must
be turned off and placed underneath the desks or table.
Electronic devices are not permitted to be used in place of a
non-programmable calculator.

6. Students who feel they may not complete their course


within the one-year enrolment period may request a course
extension of 3 months. Students are entitled to one course
extension per enrolment. Course extensions are subject to the
applicable fees and must be purchased at least 15 calendar
days prior to (and not including) the course expiration date. A
list of fees is available in IFSE’s website at www.ifse.ca.

7. In order to be granted credit for the course, a student must


achieve a grade of no less than 60% on the course
examination. Students who are unable to achieve a passing
grade during the allotted examination attempts, or within their
one-year enrolment period, are required to re-enrol if they
wish to pursue credit in the course. Re-enrolments are subject
to the full course cost. A list of fees is available on the IFSE.ca
homepage under the “Fees & Payments section” which can be
accessed at www.ifse.ca.

8. Students who wish to cancel their course enrolment may do


so at any time. Students who initiate a course cancellation
within 15 calendar days of enrolling (including the registration
date) are entitled to a partial refund of their course enrolment
fees. Students are not eligible for a refund if they have
completed an examination attempt. An administration fee will
be applied to each course cancellation. Once a course
cancellation has been processed a student will no longer have
access to the course content on the Web.
8. Students are advised to educate themselves on all
examination policies and procedures prior to sitting their
examination. The examination policies and procedures are
available in the Academic Calendar, which can be accessed at
www.ifse.ca

9. Examination results are available online within 10 business


days following the examination to students with no
outstanding fees. Results will be posted to a student's virtual
desktop. No grades will be given over the telephone or via
email.

10. All course enrolment fees are due at the time of


enrolment. Courses will be in a pre-enrolled status until all
fees are paid in full. Course content will not be available on the
Web until all course fees are paid.

11. Students will receive an official grade transcript after each


examination sitting and a diploma upon successful completion
of the course. Students with any outstanding fees will not be
sent these documents until all fees have been paid in full.

12. Tax receipts are dated no later than the last day in
February for course enrolment and service fees paid in the
previous tax year. Students are able to access their tax
receipts online, in their student profile.

13. IFSE is not responsible for technical problems at the


student’s end including forgetting a password or having a
disruption in internet service. Due to the nature of the
internet, please ensure that sufficient time is allowed for
accessing the course content prior to a scheduled exam sitting.
User requirements can be found on the home page in the FAQ
section under “Technical Tips”. The Web browser that you use
for IFSE.ca must be Microsoft Internet Explorer version
5.5.sp2 or higher.
