First Quarter 2011 - Progress Report

General Ministry Information

The Progress Report is a free, quarterly publication of the FINAL FRONTIERS FOUNDATION INC.,
whose purpose is to effectively take the Gospel to the more than three billion souls, who have never
before heard. Currently we are ministering in seventy-three nations. Many of these countries are
closed to foreign missionaries and in others, work among the various tribal groups is restricted to
national preachers only, thus they are open to us because of our unique method of missions.
We believe that the training and subsidizing of national preachers is the most efficient and

effective method of global evangelism. Thus we seek to raise prayer and financial support from
believers in the West, for God's servants abroad, who are actively involved in church planting and
discipleship. The 80 countries where we serve

In 1987 I snapped this photo of a leprous beggar on Sukhumvit Rd.
in Bangkok, Thailand. More than likely he is no longer with us as lep-
rosy is not a disease that allows its victims to grow old, especially
when no medical care is provided. But I use his photo now to illustrate
a point. Just as he was dependent on the generosity of friends and
strangers for his survival, so are we.
Final Frontiers has grown to become a large and effective min-
istry; but whereas most ministries (especially churches) re-
ceive the bulk of their funding into a “general fund” from
which they support their budgeted items, we do not have
that luxury. You see, most of the funds we receive are
“designated” for a preacher, a child or a project. Sel-
dom do we receive “undesignated” funds or offer-
ings specifically designated for our “Home Office
Fund”. In fact, the funds given to us for the purpose
of “staying alive” as a functioning ministry dropped
by $200,000 from 2008 to 2009 and did not rise in
2010. Obviously, if we can’t pay our staff and our
light bill, etc., then we won’t be open to raise
support for the preachers, children, Bibles, etc.
Just like in your home, expenses pile up and
must be paid. Even our Progress Report cost
us about a dollar for every one we send out and
several thousand families who receive it have
never given any support for our ministry. We
continue sending it in the hope that some day
each of them will partner with us financially as
well as prayerfully.
So here’s what we’re asking you …
“Can you spare a dime?”
Donating the equivalent of a dime a day to help
us keep the lights on would be tremendous. In fact, it
would wipe out our deficit. A dime a day comes out to
about $3 a month (or $36 a year). Thus I am asking
all of you who don’t yet contribute, but who are
blessed by what you read in each issue, to consider
giving us an annual offering of just $36. Doing so
once a year rather than giving on a monthly
basis will save us $8.84 a year on postage.
And of course, we are also hoping
to enlist our sponsors to help with a
monthly offering for our HOME OF-
FICE in any amount, just as you give
faithfully each month for your
preacher or child.
Thanks you so much for your
willingness to help us keep our
lights on, so we can keep chan-
neling your support for the
preachers and projects dear
to your heart and mine.

Note: Among the Maasai Tribe a right of passage/circumcision
ceremony is practiced to usher a boy from childhood to manhood.
This rite has its origins in paganism so some of the preachers have
developed a Bible-based right of passage to take its place and train
them to be saved, love the Lord, and follow His Word.

From left to right the photos show the boys who graduated from the

fire before us. After some time with the help of the people on the street we
were shifted to the hospital. Even there we were denied admission because I am a preacher. We went to another and they treated us
kindly and told my wife to take bed rest at least for three weeks. We spent a lot of money for this and our bicycle is no way useful to us
anymore. Please pray for a new bicycle ($75) and some medicines.

If you are not receiving reports from your preacher or child we may have a
outdated address or email for you. Please let us know.

Preachers serving without sponsors

These men are among hundreds who have been faithfully serving the Lord for many years and have either never been supported or
their support was ended due to the financial difficulties of the sponsors. Sponsorship is just $35 monthly. For more detailed
information, see page 23. See our complete list of preachers in need on our website at www.finalfrontiers.org

I was brought up in a Christian home and was even serving as the president of
our youth when God called me to be a preacher. That was in August 1981. I want-
ed to know more about the Bible so I went to study in the Bible Institute and after-
wards I became the pastor of a Baptist church. My wife was saved in October
1991 when her sister took her to visit her church.
Since being in the ministry I have been faithful in my time and service. I have
trained three men to be preachers and I have started two Baptist churches that
are both in our capital city. As a pastor I do much of my work during the week
alone as I witness and counsel others but I also like to take my church members
out soul winning with me and teach them how to witness and to pass out tracts.
When other brothers call on me I also go with them to help them start new
churches in barrios that do not have a church.
My family lives in a rented house that is made of bricks. It has two bedrooms.

Christ. It was in 1971. I have been working in the ministry since 1979, first in my
home church and then in other towns across our nation.
My wife accepted Christ in 1983 and has since been a Sunday School teacher.
She helps in teaching and in large gatherings and has helped me to start new
churches. It was her interest in serving the Lord that led me to marry her. We
were married in 1989.
Together we have started two churches and have trained five men and women
who are serving as teachers or church leaders. We do not have a house of our
own but we live in two rooms of the church.
Our budget is $735 monthly which includes rent for the church building. It is our
rent that pays for the church to have space to use. We receive only about $337,
less than half of what we need so as a result we live very frugally and make many

One of the great mysteries of western Christianity

is contentment. At least one must presume it is a
mystery because so few western Christians, in partic-
ular American Christians, have found it and/or actual-
ly have it. In this time of economic turmoil, the threat
of terrorism, uncharacteristic weather patterns, and
governmental instability, many of our loyal Final Fron-
tiers supporters have pulled back their support be-
cause of economic fear and uncertainty for the future.
In a word, they are discontent and don’t know what to
do about it, or how to find it. Nonetheless, content-
ment is not something that’s foundit is rather, an atti-
tude.
There are some people, many of whom are Chris-
tians, who seemingly have little or no regard for mate-
rial possessions. They accept poverty as a normal
living condition, and their major concern is where they
will sleep that night or eat that day. In contrast, on the
other extreme, are the affluent who have the best that
our western society has to offer at their disposal.

A Glimpse of the Ministry - Customs of the world

In mid November Muslims around the world celebrated the annual festival
of Eid al-Adha which commemorates, what they believe to be, the event of
Ibrahim’s (Abraham) willingness to offer Ishmael (not Isaac) and then the
staying of his hand and Allah’s provision of a ram to be sacrificed in his place.
Muslims, even the less religious among them, celebrate this festival every
year with the sacrifice of sheep and cattle. This year it was reported that Tur-
key had to import cattle from Uruguay to meet the need of it’s people.
The question remains; was this because of a shrinking cattle population in
Turkey or the growth of radical Islam in this “secular” nation that is tearing
itself apart.
Traditionally, on this day the family will dress in their finest clothes for their
daily prayers. After sacrificing the animal (lambs, cows and camels are the
most popular) at their home, the family will divide the meat into three parts.
One part for their feast, one part for religious purposes and the third to be
given in the name of charity to a poor or needy family or a neighbor.
The wealthy will also give a percentage of their income and assets to the
poor, helpless, orphans, etc. This offering, called Zakat, may be given in the
form of cash or crops, or items such as clothing.
This day has become a cultural event in nations that are highly Islamic. It
is a day of celebration and spending time with your family and friends; a day
of gift-giving and in particular, a day when the Muslim family will invite non-
Muslims to their home to share in their good fortune. It gives them an oppor-
tunity to explain the purpose of the sacrifice from Islam’s viewpoint.
Islam teaches the importance of having a sacrifice for our sins but does
not recognize that Jesus is God’s perfect and permanent sacrifice. Sharing
with them from a cultural standpoint the waste of an unaccepted sacri-
fice as well as the anger of God against those who reject His sacrifice
would make a strong cultural impact. Every missionary must seek for Above: an Afghani

This summer we offer two types of trips to Honduras. The first are our regular Visionary Trips for all ages. We have enjoyed host-
ing folks from ages five to eighty-five and are careful to make sure that the activities are appropriate for all.
As you read the descriptive information below, please be aware that we can run both Visionary Trips and High Calling Adventure
Trips simultaneously. This means we can actually host two groups at the same time making it a perfect opportunity to let the adults
enjoy their own Visionary Trips while their teens are hiking and camping in the mountains above them.

your chosen preacher along with his report form.
Each preacher recommended for support has successfully 800-522-4324 EXT. 110
passed through at least three levels of examination and has
been proven to be doctrinally sound, morally pure and have a
verifiable track record in church planting and training other men who are serving in the ministry.
Sponsorship of a TEAM can be done for $10.00 monthly or more. TEAM stands for Together Effectively Advancing the Ministry. Though many
preachers are being supported, they often collectively lack ministry tools that can be useful. The purpose of the TEAM funding is to provide each
country with money to be used for such things as printing literature, buying bicycles for the traveling evangelists, building a church or Bible school,
emergency relief, feeding widows and most often, funding preachers who do not yet have a sponsor.
Each trimester as the funds are mailed abroad, the national coordinator for each nation is asked to fill out a TEAM Report Form which we will copy
and send to you. This will give you a first hand report of how your funds were effectively used to advance the ministry in that land.
Sponsorship of TOUCH A LIFE, gives assistance to an orphaned, abandoned or destitute child. The $35.00 monthly sponsorship provides for food,
clothing, basic medical care, and educational assistance. All orphanages, home placement programs and feeding centers assisted by Final Frontiers
are administered by pastors who are supported through this foundation and are operated as a ministry of a local church. Bi-monthly correspondence is
required from the children. Funding distribution for the child is identical to that of the preachers (see #1) giving us extra funds to help unsponsored
children.
DAILY BREAD is a similar program but does not have a specific sponsor/child designation, rather it is food bought in bulk to feed unspecified un-
sponsored children who are awaiting sponsorship. Donations of any amount are accepted for this great need.
Donations to SMUGGLERS are used to purchase and distribute Bibles. Many national pastors and Believers do not own a copy of God’s Word.
Smugglers helps to provide God’s Word to those who desire it in free countries and in closed counties such as Islamic nations.
BAGS OF HOPE is our food distribution program feeding widows, orphans and persecuted families living primarily in the Islamic Middle East. Sup-
port for this program is $20 monthly and provides food, clean water, medicine and vitamins for a family of four.
Any offering given for our HOME OFFICE NEEDS or for the support of one of our MISSIONARY REPRESENTATIVES, whether monthly or a one
time gift, will be applied 100% as designated.
