Microsoft Global Energy Forum 2010 – Petroleum Magazine, February 2010

The seventh edition of this renowned meeting was held with the collaboration of Accenture,
Schlumberger, Istore and Sogeti, who pooled efforts to bring together approximately 750 executives and
professionals of the oil business and technology information (IT), to discuss the best way to use
technology in the solution of their affairs, giving end-users 12 technical presentations and 3 presenters
sharing their successes with their peers in the industry that they understand language better.

Microsoft has had a long relationship with oil and gas, focusing on eight years of increasing its support
to this sector. The firm has worked with numerous field automotive, financial, and health, among other
industries and vertically integrated companies. This information technology giant time managed to
establish a network of communication to deliver solutions with partners and help multiply the impact of
people.

The Forum focused on helping companies offer a suite of business, technical and transactional, systems
capabilities and optimized search for oil and gas. It is also an objective to facilitate the companies to
produce the right mix of products for each market in particular, the chain of value, in accordance with
government regulations and effective management of global projects.
Global Energy Forum also proposed to put in the hands of attendees data, communication and
collaboration with colleagues, vendors and partners around the world to achieve more effective
geoscientific decisions, technical and business analysis.

The 7th Global Energy Forum was the ideal scenario for a select group of companies displayed their
capacities and progress with their products and services: Active Navigation, Altius Consulting,
AspenTech, Avanade, Capgemini, CSC, ESRI, Iconics, IHS, Intel, K2, Microsoft Dynamics CRM, OSIsoft,
PCUBED, Petris, SOL RC and Wipro.

O & G Survey
Microsoft and Accenture took this luxury auditorium to announce the results of the "2010 Oil and gas
social media and Collaboration Survey", a survey to determine what factors are leading to the need to
work together, how professionals can work together successfully and what impact new media
technologies have in work.

The survey was conducted at the end of 2009 and includes interviews from more than 275 people
around the world, representing all levels of experience.

73% of respondents recognized the value added to your business using social media technology.

Conferences
At the 7th Global Energy Forum there were three presenters. Craig Hodges, CEO, Manufacturing &
Resources Sector of Microsoft, officiated as official presenter of the Forum:

1) James Burkhart, Managing Director of the global Energy Group of IHS CERA, during the opening
Conference spoke about the challenges of oil and gas industry.

2) Captain D. Michael Abrashoff, former Commander of the USS Benfold was responsible for the
Conference lunch, where he shared his life passages relating them to technological change and the
challenges that we must overcome in our lives.

3) Steve Ballmer, CEO of Microsoft, directed the closing words with an interesting and entertaining
presentation on how the development of information technology is impacting the modern life.
