What does ‘conversion’ mean and why discuss it? Can people be converted but not saved?

Are all conversion experiences the same? What is biblical conversion? Can you tell if a
person has been converted? Or know for yourself? What are the signs of conversion? And
what if conversion became the ‘norm’ for my faith-community?

If God would grant us grace in our interactions together, you should be able to:
 Detect and describe the riches of Christ at work in other people’s lives and recognize them
in your own by listening to them share their testimonies;
 Communicate your own faith-journey and conversion experience to others;
 Discuss “seven biblical points” of the conversion process with others;
 Specify what steps you can take next to make your conversion complete
 Develop an open-heartedness to the work and ministry of the Lord Jesus Christ in your life;
 Demonstrate a security in your own faith that leads to greater transformation and love for
God as well as a more serious and intentional attitude about seeing others grow in faith;
 Plan to see Christ’s grace reach others with the love of God you yourself have experienced!

Welcome! Let me give some opening remarks about The 7-Point Conversion manual, offer my
personal testimony and then have you share your name and one person you know personally
you would say is definitely going to heaven.
Can everybody just have their own ideas—ideas even from the Bible, as to how to make it to
forever or to heaven?
Let’s make it personal: Do you know what it takes? Can you speak definitively about moments
in your life when things were different than they are now for you, when there was a conversion
of sorts and now you are an eternal bound being? Can you share that experience biblically
based, accurately stated, and meaningfully communicated—and know for certain it isn’t just
your own ideas on what the Bible has to say?
The truth is we must take conversion seriously for several

Your helps along the way are these: each other, this manual, your teacher, your Bible and Jesus
Himself.
The Bible speaks of 7-points in our conversion, but before we speak about those—
If you were going to look in the Bible for patterns of conversion, where would you go?
In this spot below, take notes about the elements you observe in Acts when it comes to
conversion.

Renewal will only come to the church as we embrace three things:

1. A clear __________—which moves us towards the answer of what it takes to become more and more
like Jesus Christ, and accomplish the design and purpose of God in our lives.
2. A ____ beginning—radical conversions > justification leading to sanctification to transformed lives.
3. An _________________ program of spiritual formation—beginning with authentic and complete
conversions with the clear goal of personal transformation.
