The Kansas City Region PCA takes great pleasure in welcoming all racers and HPDE participants to “Porsches in the Heartland
– 2011.” It is hard to believe that this is the 8th annual event; seems just a couple of years ago that Al Hess raised the possibility
during his presidency and we tentatively organized our first race. As race chairs for the past few years we have enjoyed watching
the participation grow and seeing our local chapter embrace the event with pride. We’ve become better organized, but the real
success has been the willingness of our participants, volunteers and sponsors to return year after year. They make it easy and
their enthusiasm encourages others to help out in greater numbers with each event.

In today’s “track day world” there are seemingly many more options, sanctioning bodies and race events to compete with and it
can be difficult to run a race without debiting the local chapter’s checkbook, but thanks to our sponsors we continue to be in good
financial shape. Aristocrat Motors returns as our title sponsor and deserves huge kudos. Their participation with the KCRPCA
has grown the past few years in a number of ways. Merchandise, displays, pace car, and of course a donation help make Porsches
in the Heartland a premier Club Race event in the Midwest. We truly thank Aristocrat, as well as our local sponsors, as we could
not put on the event without them.

I want to again acknowledge Heartland Park Topeka’s ownership and management. Ray Irwin has invested many millions of dollars
in upgrading the facility and every year there are improvements benefiting our event. I see a number of race tracks every year and
take great pride in the fact that HPT is truly a first-class facility.

Porsches in the Heartland is a “kick off” destination each year for many racers and HPDE participants, and we thank those who
have made the trek in numbers from Minnesota, Texas and other distant locations in addition to those more “local” to HPT. Not
just this year but over the history of this race the loyalty shown by so many drivers has been noted and is truly appreciated. Clearly,
without you we could not succeed in putting on this event and we encourage any comments you may have that could make our
event even better. We read them all and implement changes annually that benefit you, our customer.

So thanks again to the participants, our KCRPCA volunteers, our sponsors and the HPT staff. We are looking forward to our com-
bined efforts providing you all with a well-run, fun and safe weekend at Porsches in the Heartland 2011.
