GUIDELINES
Subject: ESH ORIENTATION

1.0 Objective

To ensure that all newly hired / newly transferred employees, on-the-job trainee,
and the regular employees of LGPP will have an awareness of the LGPP ESH Practices
and ESH policies, rules and regulations.

2.0 Scope

This procedure starts from the first day of employment of the newly hired / newly
transferred employees, on-the-job trainee, and the regular employees up to its practice /
implementation during the course of his/her employment and covers the reorientation of
all employees as the need arises.

3.0 Definitions and Abbreviations

3.1 Newly Hired Employees – refers to LGPP employees who are newly hired for
purposes of regular employment, Temporary employment, Contracted Services or
casual employment for a specific Job Order / Work Order (e.g. PMS or Rehab).
3.2 PMS – is the Preventive Maintenance Schedule of Turbine Generator Units.
3.3 Rehab – is the rehabilitation of LGPP equipment for a certain period of time.
3.4 Newly Transferred Employee/s – refers to NPC employee/s coming from other NPC
Plants / institution and is/are reassigned in LGPP permanently or on detail for a
period of one year and over
3.5 On-the-job Trainees – refers to students having their practicum at LGPP.
3.6 Regular Employment – refers to employees with permanent employment status
3.7 Temporary Employment – refers to employees with renewable employment status
every year
3.8 Casual Employment – refers to employees with casual employment status that varies
from one month to six months depending on the nature of service required
3.9 Contracted Services – refers to employees, who contracted their services with no
employer – employee relation.
