Fuel Transformer for

Biodiesel Blends B2 – B50

DESCRIPTION
Econal™ - ECOPLUSS Diesel/Biodiesel, fuel transformer, is added to
petro/bio-diesel blends B2 – B50 to ensure long term stability. As fuels
age, polymerization and oxidation can occur, forming gums and insoluble
or non-volatile residues. These materials can contribute to fuel system
failures in vehicles or adversely affect combustion performance. Fuel
stability with Econal™ - ECOPLUSS retards or prevents degradation in
biodiesel blends. The catalytic formula contains no volatile compounds
like sulfur, oxygen, nitrogen, organometallics, or surfactants. Econal™ -
ECOPLUSS is completely organic, non-hazardous, non-toxic and non-
flammable. It replaces all additives used to enhance and protect blended
fuels.

Immune Deficiency Fuel (IDF)

The storage stability of a blended fuel is defined by its relative immunity Elaeis Guineensis
to physical and chemical changes brought about by interaction with its
environment. Oil is treated by temperature related chemical process to
create distillate bi-products. Unfortunately, the age-old reaction
mechanism strips the fuel from many inherent properties that existed in
the oil creating a condition called Immune Deficiency Fuel (IDF). Through
the years, industry has sought to remedy the problem by treating IDF with Oxidation of
quick-fix additives containing hazardous and toxic materials disregarding
Palm Oil
the consequences to combustion efficiency and environment.

Consequently, IDF degrades during long-term storage as follows: (1)

oxidation or autoxidation from contact with ambient air; (2) thermal or
Microbial
thermal-oxidative decomposition from excess heat; (3) hydrolysis from
contact with water or moisture in tanks and fuel lines; or (4) microbial Contamination
contamination from migration of dust particles or water droplets
containing bacteria or fungi into the fuel.

Storage Stability
It is better to prevent waste than to treat or clean up waste after it has
been created. Fuels should be treated with Econal™ - ECOPLUSS during
the induction period to restore the following lost properties that occurred
during hydro-cracking and/or transesterification:

Polymerization Retardant - Keeps fuel from solidifying

Corrosion Inhibitor - Retards internal corrosion and fouling of fuel tanks
Anti-Oxidant – Inhibits creation of hydroxide compounds in fuel
Demulsifier - Separates water from the fuel
Lubricant - Lubricates the fuel system
Biocide/Fungicide - Prevents microorganisms and fungus growth

Econal™ - ECOPLUSS should be continuously fed into the stream as it

flows to storage to ensure proper and uniform transformative
concentrations in the fuel storage tank. We can identify and apply the
most appropriate Econal™ - ECOPLUSS product line to ensure that your
fuel products maintain their high quality during transport and storage.
Testing with Econal
ASTM D4176 - 04: This test method is for free water and
particulate contamination in distillate fuels (Visual Inspection
Procedures). Results: Clean, Clear and Free of Water

ASTM 7545 – 09: The induction period may be used as an

indication of the oxidation and storage stability of middle
distillate fuel. Compared to some other oxidation and storage
stability test methods, a small sample is taken to give a result in a
short time period. Results: Fuel tested within Specs.

Benefits
Stabilizes for 1 year minimum
Restores degraded fuels to highest quality
Fuel filters remain cleaner, requiring fewer costly
changes
Tanks and fuel lines remain free of slime and
sludge
