+ I like to wear T-shirt and jeans
- What colours you prefer (Bạn thích màu sắc nào?)
+ I prefer white, yellow, blue
- What (or who) influences you in your choice of clothes (Cái gì hay ai ảnh
hưởng đến việc lựa chọn quần áo của bạn?)
+ There are two factors that influence me in my choice of clothes. They
are the fashion and the price. First, the fashion. I want to wear beautiful
and fashionable clothes, because that will make me look better and more
stylish. Of course, many people will admire me when I’m wearing a
fashionable clothes such as those by Gucci, Louis Vuition or Valentino.
Second, the price. I think clothes often cost a lot of money. So it depends
on how much I have when I choose to buy new clothes. Sometimes, I
feel like crazy when I like a new patterned shirt in the shop in a
supermarket. So I save money to buy it. But in general, I often save for
other purposes, not clothes.

+ I like spring

+ It is warm, humid and rainy in spring

+ In spring, I often go out with my friends. It is warm, a bit cold. So we often

go to eat grilled meat, grilled corn or grilled sweet potatoes. It is very
interesting to sit together, have some tea and grilled food, and chat with your
 friends. Sometimes, I go to the outskirt to take photographs. There are a lot of
beautiful flowers and scenes for you to take photographs

+ I like spring because it is the first season in a year, when new things
begin. The weather is pleasant and there are a lot of beautiful flowers

- Where you went and how you got there (Bạn đi đâu và đến đó bằng phương

+ My memorable travel experience is the journey to Yen Tu last spring. I went

there by car, then I climbed to the top of Yen Tu mountain

- Why you went to this place (Tại sao bạn lại đến đó)
+ I often go out for fun with my colleagues. Last spring, my colleagues chose
to go to Yen Tu for the spring. So I went there and had a memorable
experience there. I also wanted to try to climb the mountain.
- What you liked and disliked about this place. Why/why not? (Bạn thích gì và
không thích gì ở đó? Tại sao?)
+ This was an interesting place. The thing that I liked best was the
beautiful scene. When I was on the way to the top of Yen Tu mountain, I
saw a lot of colourful flowers. I could hear the songs of the birds. The
atmosphere made me feel very pleasant. But I didn’t like the service
there. It lacked of many things. Almost all are manual and expensive.
4. Describe a social problem in your community: (Mô tả 1 vấn đề xã hội tại khu vực

- What this problem is (Vấn đề đó là gì)

+ In my community, there are no serious social problem. But there is some

little vandalism. Sometimes, there are people destroy the natural scene, paint
on the walls or cut down trees near the pagodas or temples.

- What causes this problem (Nguyên nhân gây ra vấn đề)

 + I don’t know the exact reason why they do such things like that. But in my
opinion, they do that because of money or the fact that they don’t really know
what they are doing. They cut down trees for money, paint advertisements on
the walls or build high buildings for themselves. But sometimes, they don’t
realize that what they do will destroy the natural scene.

- How many people in your community are affected by this problem (Bao nhiêu
người trong khu vực của bạn bị ảnh hưởng bởi vấn đề này)

+ Luckily, not so many people in my community are affected by

vandalism. Because my community is a modern one. People here live in
flats, there are just a few temples and pagodas in my area. So this is the
reason why there is less vandalism in my community than other ones in
Hanoi

5. Talk about the typical characteristics of people from your country (Nói về các tính
cách đặc trưng của con người đất nước bạn)

Well, I think there are advantages and disadvantages in the typical characteristics
of Vietnamese people. Let’s begin with the advantages first. Vietnamese people
are very sociable. It’s true, when foreigners come to Vietnam, he or she will
always be welcome heartedly. Vietnamese people also love peace. Because of
having war for a long time, we love and regard peace. As you see, Vietnam is a
peaceful country. That’s the reason why many foreign companies now invest into
Vietnam.

On the other hand, Vietnamese people have two disadvantages. First, Vietnamese
people lack of ability to work in a group. People often say: “One Vietnamese is
better than a Japanese, but three Japaneses are better than three Vietnameses”.
Vietnamese people are often late for school or work, especially for appointments
or meetings. Just fancy, it is unpleasant to wait for some people in a forthcoming
meeting when most people are already there.

I think I’m quite typical. I’m sociable and love peace. But I think I’m stronger and
more cooperative.

6. Do you agree or disagree with this statement? Give reasons.

 “Nature doesn’t have bad weather. It’s because of human’s activities that make the
weather bad.” (Bạn đồng ý hay không đồng ý với quan điểm sau? Giải thích. “Tự
nhiên không có thời tiết xấu. Do các hoạt động của con người gây ra thời tiết xấu”)

Bad weather is a problem of nature. We don’t create rain, snow, flood or

drought. A long time ago, people found ways to confront with bad weather.
As you see, in cruel areas, cold as Artic or hot as deserts, there are very few
people to live. And residents there must adapt to bad weather. Eskimos have
to wear warm coats and reserve food to be against the cold climate. People,
who go through deserts, must wear thick clothes and save water to survive.
So in my opinion, nature has bad weather but human’s activities make the
weather become worse. Cutting down trees for wood results in floods and
droughts because there is no forest to protect us from heavy rains from
highlands. Polluted air which is caused by industrial smoke is the reason for
greenhouse effect. Greenhouse effect leads to the fact that the earth becomes
warmer, the the ice from the Artics melts down and affects to our life.
Destroying nature will destroy our natural guards and make the weather be
hard to forecast.
7. Do you agree or disagree with this statement? Give reasons.

“Capital punishment is not humane.” (Bạn đồng ý hay không đồng ý với quan
điểm sau? Giải thích. “Án tử hình là không nhân đạo”)

In fact, I disagree with this statement. Punishment is a method to punish

criminals and warn everybody not to do bad things. So it helps our society be
better, more peaceful by adjusting people’s behaviours and actions. Capital
punishment is the result for extremely dangerous crimes such as murdering, arson,
embezzlement … At first, dangerous criminals deserves capital punishment for
what they did, we often say it is for justice. In different countries, law is also
different but we have to admit that everybody wants dangerous criminals to be
punished in a suitable way. Besides, capital punishment is the warning to all the
criminals who want to or have idea to have dangerous crime. If they think of
capital punishment that they may suffer, for murdering, arson … , they may think
twice and give up. That’s the way we can assure of a peaceful society.

9. Discuss some of the advantages and disadvantages of wearing uniforms at

school/work (Thảo luận về các ưu điểm và nhược điểm khi mặc đồng phục ở
trưởng/công sở)

In my opinion, there are advantages and disadvantages of wearing uniforms at

school or work. You see, pupils have to wear white shirts and black trousers,
sometimes they have red scarves. In offices, men usually wear vests, colars, black
leather shoes while women have uniform skirts. It’s clear that wearing uniforms
has some advantages. Uniforms are for all the people in a school or an office, so it
makes no difference among these people. Pupils will look like the same, no matter
their families are poor or rich. Uniforms also bring us a professional feeling. If you
ever travel by air, Vietnam Airline, you’ll be impressed by a team of beautiful
Vietnamese airhostesses. They all wear red “ao dai” with small logoes on them. So
you’ll feel comfortable and safety about your flight.

However, wearing uniforms have some disadvantages. Some suits make us feel
not very comfortable and difficult to move. Especially in summer, thick vest or red
scarves make us feel even more uncomfortable.

10. Discuss some of the advantages and disadvantages of travelling by plane (Thảo
