1. Making digital designed and generated publication

Digital Design is basically focuses on the communication of messages and

experiences, by right, both are physical and virtual. These communication

experiences take place either on computers, the Web, a mobile phone, and time-

based media, such as film and video. Hence, this is either to persuade, inform,

educate, or send a message to the intended user, and a digital designer's solution is

often done in concert with other communication channels.

2. Digital typography

Typography is the art and technique of arranging type, type design, and modifying

type glyphs. Further more, type glyphs are created and modified using a variety of

illustration techniques. Additional, the arrangement of type involves the selection

of typefaces, point size, line length, leading which is line spacing and adjusting

the spaces between groups of letters and adjusting the space between pairs of

letters.

3. Grids

Grids in design is a typographic grid which have two dimensional structures made

up of a series of intersecting vertical and horizontal axes used to structure content

or an object. For the fact that, some people also called it as page layout. For

instance, the grid serves as an armature on which a designer can organize text and

images in a rational, easy to absorb manner, these mean to help to work in a

proper way. Besides that, the less common printing term “reference grid,” is not

related to the system with roots in the early days of printing.

For example:
4. Usability

Usability is the study of ability of a human made object. The object of use can be

a software application, website, book, tool, machine, process, or anything a

human interacts. A usability study may be conducted as a primary job function by

a usability analyst or maybe as a secondary job function by designers, technical

writers, and marketing personnel. It is widely used in consumer electronics,

communication, and knowledge transfer objects and mechanical objects such as a

door handle or a hammer.

5. Legibility

Legibility is function to a typeface design, and it is considered not formal measure

of how easy it is to differentiate one letter from another in a particular typeface.

For further information, not all typefaces “are” or “should be” created with

legibility as a primary design work. Many typefaces are drawn for the purpose of

creating a typographic statement, or providing a particular spirit or feeling to

graphic communication. It’s possible to the degree that a typeface has spirit,

distinction and personality, but it almost always suffers proportionally on the

legibility scale. For instance, there is one of an aspect which makes a typeface

more legible, a long-standing typographic maxim is that the most legible

typefaces are “transparent” to the reader that is they don’t call undue attention to

themselves. Additionally, the most legible typefaces contain big features and have

restrained design characteristics. Based on my own understanding, the “big

features” refers to things such as large, open counters, and character shapes that

are obvious and easy to get recognized by.

6. Form designs

Form is a form of art. Basically, a form is a three-dimensional geometrical figure,

such as sphere, cube, cylinder, cone and many other shapes. As opposed to a

shape, this is two-dimensional, or flat. Furthermore, it is best to use a computer

program that provides a layout grid on the background of the screen. A

specialized forms design program is best. For instance, for the first items to be

drawn in a desktop publishing system are the guidelines representing the “trim”

size if the form in the upper left corner of the grid in close proximity to the

horizontal and vertical scales on the screen. This is the final size of the form after

it has been through the printing process and trimmed to specifications.

7. Newspaper style

Newspaper style includes informative materials such as news in brief, headlines,

advertisements, additional articles. For more information, not everything

published in the paper can be included in newspaper style. Based on my own

understanding, brief items is very important newspaper style because its function

to inform the reader about the important points. Besides that, simple English is

also very important, not everyone understand very high level English, so makes

things easy use simple English for layman. The beautiful and creative design of

newspaper style can also attracted many readers.

8. Style sheets

A Style sheet is a feature in desktop publishing programs that store and apply

formatting to text. For instance, style sheets are a form of separation of

presentation and content, and it creates a separate abstraction to keep the

presentation isolated from the text data.

9. Charts , graphs and tables

(i) A graph is an abstract representation of a set of objects where some pairs

of the objects are connected by links. There can be many type of graphs,

for example straight line and curve. The interconnected objects are

represented by mathematical abstractions called vertices, and the links that

connect some pairs of vertices are called horizontal. Typically, a graph is

depicted in diagrammatic form as a set of dots for the vertices, joined by

lines or curves for the horizontal.

For example:

(ii) Charts are a graphical representation of data, which the data is represented

by symbols, for example bars in a bar chart, lines in a line chart, or pie

chart. For instance, a chart can represent tabular numeric data, functions or

some kinds of qualitative structures.

For example: Pie chart

(iii) Table is a set of data elements or numbers that is organized using a model

of vertical columns and horizontal rows. A table also has a specified

number of columns, but it can have any number of rows. However, each

row is identified by the values appearing in a particular column subset

which has been identified as a candidate key. Based on my own opinion,

group a set of data or number can actually give people a clear image.

10.Information designs

Information design is the skill and practice of preparing information so people can

use it with efficiency and effectiveness. Where the data is complex or

unstructured, a visual representation can express its meaning more clearly to the

viewer.
