So I'm on a 2 year old arcade (built in MU version), and I have had no glitches
or problems what so ever in my 2 1/2 playthroughs.
I would suggest installing the game on your HD, not saying it will fix your
problem but its worth a shot!

I always Install all of my games when I first get them. I played all of DS (both 1
and 2) from the HDD, even though I did try DS1 from the Disc afterward to see
if there was any difference in the Game (there really wasn't, a testament to how
well they wrote the Game to begin with).
But my Friend while playing DS2, played it from the Disc. He said his DVD
Drive was running none stop like a jet airplane. He said if he stood still it
might get quiet for a second but as soon as he moved he could hear the Disc
pulling Data from the Drive nonstop.
I have an old 360 and havent seen a problem yet Dead Space 2.

Yes that was the main thing i noticed from doing an install on DS2 was just the
quietness of the disk drive. Not too much loading throughout the game to
really notice except for the initial boot up load is a little quicker. And like you I
install all my games as well for the main and simple reason of relieving the
stress on my disk drive and giving the drive the best chance to live a long life

Sounds like your system is ready to kick the bucket. If you are still under
warranty then as soon as you see the red rings send that sucker in. One of my
boxes bit the dust with Black Ops.
So I have been playing DS2 on the launch console and yes, it freezes alot.. its
very frustrating actually. Im not sure why it would freeze any more than the
