    On February 23, 2011, CREW sent out three requests under Wisconsin’s Public Records Law seeking records pertaining to the decision of Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker to dispatch the Wisconsin State Patrol last Friday to find Senate Democratic Minority Leader Mark Miller. The requests were sent to Governor Walker, state Senate Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald, and his father, Stephen Fitzgerald, who in just the past few weeks was chosen to be Superintendent of the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, which includes the state troopers. CREW seeks all records of communications concerning the location, attendance, or actions to compel any member of the Wisconsin state Senate to attend a legislative session as well as internal discussions within the three offices about whether to comply with Governor Walker’s request to send a state trooper to the home of Senator Miller.; CREW: Governor Scott Walker: Regarding Dispatching of Wisconsin State Patrol; Holder of Document: CREW; Producing Agency: Governor Scott Walker; Date Received: 4/7/11;

    In further response to your February 23, 2011 open records request, we are providing 672 pages
    of responsive records. These records are being provided in electronic format as attached PDF
    files as you requested on March 31, 2011.

    In response to our partial response on March 31, 2011, you wrote a follow up letter dated April
    1, 2011 raising concerns about our assertion of attorney-client privilege as a prohibition to
    disclosure. We are currently reviewing your concerns in order to respond completely to the
    points you raised. We are consulting with the Department of Justice for further guidance, and we
    will provide you a response when our analysis is complete.
