MATERIALS
• LION BRAND Magic Stripes
1 ball #201 Denim Stripe
or color of your choice
• Size 3 (3.25 mm) double-pointed needles OR SIZE TO OBTAIN GAUGE
• LION BRAND stitch markers
• LION BRAND stitch holder

GAUGE
28 sts = 4” (10 cm) in St st (k every rnd).
BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE.

STITCH EXPLANATIONS
ssk (slip, slip, knit) Slip next 2 sts as if to knit, one at a time, to right needle; insert left
needle into fronts of these 2 sts and k them tog.

M1 (make 1 st) An increase worked by lifting the horizontal thread lying between the needles and placing
it onto the left needle. Work this new stitch through the back loop.

FINGERLESS GLOVES
Loosely cast on 60 sts. Divide sts evenly onto double-pointed needles.
Place marker and join, being careful not to twist.
Work in K1, P1 Rib for 2”.
Work in St st for 1½”.
Dec Rnd K2tog, knit to last 2 sts, ssk.
Work dec rnd every 1½” for 5 more times – 48 sts.
Work even in St st for 1”.

THUMB GUSSET
Rnd 1 K 24, place marker, M1, place marker, k 24.
Rnd 2 Knit.
Rnd 3 Knit to marker, slip marker, M1, knit to second marker, M1, slip marker, knit to
end of rnd.
Repeat Rnds 2 and 3 until there are 19 sts between markers.
Next Rnd Knit 24, remove marker, slip next 19 sts to holder, remove second marker,
knit 24 – 48 sts.

Knit across 19 sts of thumb. Pick up 3 sts along edge of hand – 22 sts.
Knit 1 rnd, dec 2 sts along side of hand where sts were picked up – 20 sts.
Work 4 rnds of K1, P1 Rib.
Bind off all sts loosely in Rib. Weave in ends.
