Architecture as a living, morphing organism in a larger symbiotic system

jennifer pecenka | resum e & wo rk sam pl es
engages the mind and senses and fosters an appreciation for design and
its timeless and dynamic qualities. My inspirations for design proliferate from
the world around me, both natural and manmade, to evoke a presence
and transcendence beyond the physical form, one that embodies emotion,
liveliness, and spirit.

DES IGN Currently working as a graduate toward an Ecological Design Certificate,

my long-term career interests lie in understanding how to balance urban
and natural ecologies in tandem with collaborative community design that

EVOLUTION
addresses economic, environmental, and social needs. Stemming from my
foreign exchange studying favelas in Brazil and interdisciplinary studies, topics
shaping my research include affordable design-build housing, food security,
life-cycle analysis, and achieving net zero and the Living Building Challenge.

Two years of professional intern experience support my education, including a

diverse array of project types and tasks. I look forward to new challenges in my
commitment toward environmental consciousness and enriching the quality
of life through a collaborative design process. Included are my resume and
sample design work from my educational and professional experience, which
