HOW US AS BELIEVERS SHOULD CLEANSE OUR HEART

AND RID IT OF IMPURITIES

Introduction: Have you ever seen someone beautiful on the outside and
then in a matter of seconds they transform into the ugliest thing you’ve
ever seen?

Well Jesus faced that same thing we he confronted the Pharisees: "Woe to
you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You are like whitewashed tombs,
which look beautiful on the outside but on the inside are full of dead men's bones and
everything unclean. Matthew 23:27

man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart. For out of the overflow of his

A. “But now you must rid yourselves of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice,
slander, and filthy language from your lips.” Colossians 3:8

All these things affect you some how and some way and will eventually come to
light and spill over into your daily life.

Examples: Arguments with people or authority: parents….teachers

II. Paul Talks about what to put on…...Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and
dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and
patience.
Before we can put on anything….we have to get rid or take off….or take out
something. Example: nail polish, makeup….

III. How do we get rid of these things that have been stored up? By confessing.

If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins

and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9

A. Confess it to the Father ask him to forgive you and forgive others of their
grievances towards you.

“Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one
another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.” Colossians 3:13

what’s in the box…our heart.

A. Just like we maintain our manicures and our pedi…even our
