Bringing in the Family into the Couples for Christ Community
Couples for Christ, in
1993, became a
community of FAMILIES!
Couples for Christ started in 1981 with
16 couples. And it was a community for
couples for some time. It was only in 1993
when the couples in Couples for Christ
decided to bring in the whole family into the
community. And it was in that year that the
Family Ministries were born.
And these ministries have brought the
Good News to the ends of the earth to the
young, and to their families!
One instance comes to mind. At a
Youth Camp in South Africa, 13 year old
boys were asked: “If there was one thing
you’d like to change in the world, what
would it be, and why?”
The first boy said he would make
everyone the same “color”, so there would
be no racism nor discrimination.

The young ministries - CFC Kids for
Family and Life, CFC Youth for Family and
Life and CFC Singles for Family and Life -
have continuously improved and expanded
to be where the young people are. Now we
are evangelizing in campuses, high schools,
call centers, public elementary schools,
Sangguniang Kabataan chapters and soon
Youth Conferences were held yearly, starting 1994. They were hosted in the following
places: Antipolo, Cebu, Los Banos, Cagayan de Oro, Iloilo, Lucena, Bacolod, Talisay,
Clark Expo, Leyte, Subic, Davao, Naga, Diocese of Balanga, Diocese of Imus,
ArchDiocese of Lipa and this April, ArchDiocese of Lingayen-Dagupan.
Same with Singles, who had conferences in Cebu, Bacolod, Bohol, Palawan,
Dumaguete, Boracay, Leyte, Bukidnon, Corregidor, Pasig, Baguio, Lanao, Diocese of
Antipolo, Diocese of Baguio, ArchDiocese of Lipa, Diocese of Tarlac and next year in
the Diocese of Paranaque.
