This project was an off shoot of the Productivity Improvement Drive, at every statement
cycle, the Targeting team prepares some masks/layouts for the actual printing. These are
applied to various accounts as per pre-set criteria. Now when they sent to a third party for
printing, they send back a report is which shows how many statements fell under which
mask. If these volumes do not match the expected volumes the output is discarded and
the Targeting team re-defines the criteria. The whole statement cycle is run again
manually. This project was commissioned to put a check to this. An online screen is
maintained in which the expected range between which the volumes per mask should fall
is maintained. The batch part processes the statements and matches and in the end tallies
the expected volumes with actual volumes. If the there is a mismatch a report is sent to
the targeting team giving a detailed breakdown and a request to redefine their parameters
again. No statement is transmitted for printing till the mismatch is resolved. The program
was implemented across 2 LPARs on 5 streams each.
