FROM FATHER RICH

The message from the Risen Lord in today’s Gospel is simple and
precious at the same time. Jesus gives his apostles and all of us beau-
tiful gift of peace and the Holy Spirit. Today the Church gives us the
Blessed John Paul II who was inspired by the Holy Spirit and was truly
a man of Peace. Thanking God for the gift of his Beatification let us
remember him and live on his teaching.
Just as I bowed down before the Holy Father, during a private audi-
ence, to pay him reverence and to receive a blessing, today I bow
down together with each one of you before His sacred life and excep-
tional Pontificate. I would like to extend a belated greeting from the
Holy Father that he asked to give to all of you during my private audience with him. In particular, I
am directing this blessing to those who did not get the opportunity to personally meet with the Holy
Father. I can ensure you that he knew and loved everyone. He was a Pope of faith, hope and
love. He loved God; He loved every human being and touched His life on many different ways. He
loved the earth, which was created by God and showed this by kissing the soil of every country He
came to visit. May that kiss be a call for all of us to live in truth, love and peace.
I was privileged to concelebrate the Mass with the Holy Father in his private chapel standing next
to him at the altar. I thought that the Mass would be celebrated either in Polish or English. I was
shocked when the Holy Father started the Mass in Latin because I knew that there would be the part
of the Eucharistic prayer that I will have to read alone. I studied Latin in the Seminary, but then after
that I didn’t use it. You know what happens, if you don’t use it—you loose it. When I started reading
the part of the Mass in Latin I noticed that the Holy Father closed his eyes. I didn’t know if he was
praying or he couldn’t stand my Latin. Since then I always feel his presence at my side when I cele-
brate the Holy Mass.
Today we will dedicate in the honor of the Holy Father a painting of his life and ministry, which
will be placed in the Blessed Mother Shrine which was dedicated to him. We are doing that so you
can feel his presence at your side every day. There will be also in the Shrine by the painting a Me-
morial Book in which we will write the names of your families, your departed loved ones and you
will be able to write there your intentions through the intersection of the Blessed John Paul II. You
can take the envelopes from the church today, write the names and bring them back next Sunday
and place them either in the collection basket or in the box in the Blessed Mother Shrine and we’ll
put the names in the Memorial Book. If you want to include a donation for the painting and the re-
modeling of the Blessed Mother Shrine it will be appreciated. Next Sunday you will receive a replica
of the painting in a form of a post card as a thank you of your support.
When the Holy Father John Paul II celebrated his 25 th Anniversary as a pope he received many
letters from the children with all kinds of funny questions:
Dear Papa,
- Do you shower with the Holy Water ?
- I was wondering if you could make the Masses shorter for little children?
- Will doing homework ever help you get into heaven?
- You know how presidents have vice presidents? Well, do popes have vice popes?
- My mother is always telling me to turn off the lights in our house. Do they tell you to turn the lights of
….in the Vatican? I can not imagine your electric bill.
- I have to wear the uniform to school every day, does it bother you to wear the same thing every day?
God Bless, Fr. Rich

OD KS. RYSZARDA

W dzisiejszej Ewangelii Chrystus przekazuje apostołom i

nam wszystkim przepiękny dar Pokoju i Ducha Świętego.
modlić, ale przede wszystkim będziemy go naśladować.
Pragnę wam przekazać zaległe i
Przekazuję to
Zapewniam was, że On was wszystkich znał i kochał. Był Papieżem wiary,
nadziei i miłości.
niech będzie wezwaniem do życia w prawdzie, miłości i pokoju.
My umieścimy te imiona w księdze pamiątkowej.

Ja codziennie do szkoły muszę ubierać szkolny mundurek. Czy tobie to nie przeszkadza, że musisz
codziennie nosić to samo ubranie?
Czy ty Ojcze Święty bierzesz prysznic w wodzie święconej?
Szczęść Boże, Ks. Ryszard
