The foundation shall be verified against the IFC Drawings and the Shop
A1 Fabrication Drawings for the locations, size and orientations of the IFC Drawings

All primary bolted connections, as shown on drawings, shall be furnished


with high-strength bolts conforming to ASTM A325 or ASTM A325M,

All high-strength bolts shall be furnished with nuts and washers. Nuts for

All machine bolts shall conform to ASTM A307 and shall be galvanized
to either ASTM A153 or ASTM B695. ASTM A307 bolts are only allowed
for the attachment of secondary members such as girts and purlins, and

A14 items such as stair treads, handrail, ladders, etc. When ASTM A307

bolts are used, the sizes used should not be the same diameter as any
A325 or A449 bolts used for the same Purchase Order. ASTM A307
bolts are to be limited to sizes 5/8" diameter and smaller.

ASTM A307 bolts shall be furnished with nuts that conform to ASTM

Eyebolts used to attach cable bracing shall be forged steel, load rated

Unless indicated in the Purchase Order, the vendor shall provide either

The use of fiberglass insulation shall meet the following conditions:

aluminum; flame spread rating of 25 or less; facing shall cover the width

insulation shall receive a quilted covering (preferably a fiberglass scrim)

Roof and Wall panels shall be attached to secondary framing members


by means of self-drilling or self-tapping screws. The screws shall be hex
head carbon steel screws assembled with an EPDM washer and

A19 mechanically zinc coating in accordance with ASTM B695, Class 50.
Sec. 6.6
However, in coastal areas, as defined in paragraph 4.3.3(b), an
austenitic (300 series) stainless steel fasteners shall be used. Fastener
heads shall be coated the same color as the panels.

Roof panels shall be made of a minimum 0.5 mm (26 gage) thick


galvanized or aluminum-zinc alloy-coated steel sheet. Roof panels for 12-SAMSS-014

buildings in coastal areas, or as specified in the purchase order shall be Sec. 6.5.1.a
made of a minimum 0.8 mm thickness aluminum sheet.

Wall panels shall have nominal covering width not less than 900 mm (3 ft
nominal) unless approved otherwise by Saudi Aramco; The panel shall
