WILLIAM & CATHERINE

A Royal Wedding
ANDREW MORTON

From #1 New York Times bestselling author and royals expert

Andrew Morton comes the definitive book on the long-awaited
wedding of Diana’s first son and heir, Prince William

From the moment the royal family announced that Prince William was betrothed to Miss
Catherine Middleton—and had given her his mother’s blue sapphire and diamond engagement
ring—excitement has been building over the first major royal wedding in twenty-five years.
Within days of the formal ceremony at Westminster Abbey on April 29, 2011, Andrew
Morton will tell the full story of the future King and Queen who met at university eight years
ago, including their ups and downs as a couple in the public eye, their private engagement in
Kenya, and all the glamour and drama of the wedding itself. This gorgeous book, including
four-color photographs throughout and 32 pages of wedding coverage, will bring us both the
public spectacle and the private moments as only the author of Diana: Her True Story can
reveal them.

ANDREW MORTON, who has been covering the British royal family for thirty years, is one of the
world’s best-known biographers. Diana: Her True Story, his groundbreaking book revealing the secret
world of Princess Diana, was a #1 New York Times bestseller in 1992 and then again in an annotated ver-
sion in 1997, as was his unauthorized biography of Tom Cruise and his authorized telling of Monica
Lewinksy’s story. The winner of numerous awards, including Author of the Year by the British Book
Awards and Scoop of the Year by the London Press Club, Morton lives in London.

JUST ONE CATCH

A Biography of Joseph Heller
TRACY DAUGHERTY
In time for the 50th anniversary of Catch-22, Tracy Daugherty,
the critically acclaimed author of Hiding Man (a New Yorker
and New York Times Notable Book), illuminates his most vital
subject yet in this brilliant biography of Joseph Heller

Joseph Heller was a Coney Island kid, the son of Russian immigrants, who went on to great
fame and fortune. His most memorable novel took its inspiration from a mission he flew over
France in WWII (his plane was filled with so much shrapnel it was a wonder it stayed in the
air). Heller wrote seven novels, all of which remain in print. Something Happened and Good as
Gold, to name two, are still considered the epitome of satire. His life was filled with women
and romantic indiscretions, but he was perhaps more famous for his friendships—he counted
Mel Brooks, Zero Mostel, Carl Reiner, Kurt Vonnegut, Norman Mailer, Mario Puzo, Dustin
Hoffman, Woody Allen, and many others among his confidantes. In 1981 Heller was
diagnosed with Guillain-Barré Syndrome, a debilitating syndrome that could have cost him his
life. Miraculously, he recovered. When he passed away in 1999 from natural causes, he left
behind a body of work that continues to sell hundreds of thousands of copies a year.
Just One Catch is the first biography of Yossarian’s creator, with cooperation by the estate.

TRACY DAUGHERTY is the author of four novels, four short story collections, and a book of personal
essays. His critically acclaimed biography of Donald Barthelme, Hiding Man, was published in 2009.
He has received fellowships from the Guggenheim Foundation and the National Endowment for the
Arts. Currently, he is Distinguished Professor of English and Creative Writing at Oregon State
University.

ABUSE OF POWER
MICHAEL SAVAGE
From the New York Times bestselling author and controversial
radio talk-show host comes a high-intensity debut thriller, the
story of a disgraced network journalist who uncovers a chilling
terrorist plot

Jack Hatfield is a hardened former war correspondent who rose to national prominence for
his insightful, provocative commentary. But after being smeared as a bigot and extremist by a
radical media watchdog group, he ultimately loses his job and finds himself working in
obscurity as a freelance news producer in San Francisco.
Hatfield is on a ride-along with the SFPD bomb squad when a seemingly routine carjacking
turns deadly, after police find several pounds of military-grade explosives in the jacked car.
And when the FBI urges Hatfield to stay out of it, he knows he’s onto something big.
This event will open up a shadowy trail that leads Hatfield to Tel Aviv, London, Paris, and
back again to the United States, where he works with a beautiful and seductive Yemeni
intelligence agent and a veteran Green Beret to expose a terrorist group known as the Hand
of Allah—and a plot within the highest corridors of power that will make 9/11 look like child’s
play.
In this lightning-paced first thriller, spanning the globe from Europe and Israel to the back
alleys of San Francisco’s Chinatown, a reporter must make the choice between protecting his
own life and investigating a terrorist cell whose goal is nothing less than total political
control—no matter what the cost.

MICHAEL SAVAGE is the host of the nationally syndicated radio show “The Savage Nation” and the
author of four New York Times bestselling books. This is his first novel.

COMING UP FOR AIR

PATTI CALLAHAN HENRY
New York Times bestselling author Patti Callahan Henry
delivers a remarkably moving novel that explores how revisiting
the secrets from our past can breathe new life into the present
On the coast of Alabama, there is a house cloaked in mystery, a place that reveals the truth
and changes lives...
Ellie is in a dying marriage. She knows this. After her controlling mother, Lillian, passes
away, Ellie’s world is turned upside down when she discovers that her ex-boyfriend, Hutch, is
in charge of a documentary that involved Lillian before her death.
When Hutch shows up at her mother’s funeral, Ellie’s closed heart opens to the past.
Fighting their feelings, Ellie and Hutch set out together to dig into Lillian’s history. Using both
a diary Ellie finds and a trip to the Summer House, a mysterious and seductive bayside home,
Hutch and Ellie gamble that they can work together and not fall in love again. But in piecing
together Lillian’s unrequited-love story, they just might uncover the secrets in their own
hearts.
In her debut with St. Martin’s Press, Patti Callahan Henry shines as a true tour de force.
Praised over and over for her lyricism and uncanny ability to transport readers to other places

TROUBLE MAKER
What it Takes to Make America Great Again
CHRISTINE O’ DONNELL
The 2010 candidate for Senate—and established political
“troublemaker”*—voices the quiet anger in America today:
where it comes from, what it’s asking for, and where it’s
going from here
From the moment she upset a heavily-favored incumbent in the primary for the special
election to fill the Delaware Senate seat vacated by Joe Biden, Christine O’Donnell made
headlines. Though she didn’t win the general election, O’Donnell did win the designation of
2010’s Most Covered Candidate. And what people were talking about wasn’t just gossip: they
responded to a fresh, unencumbered voice that appealed to voter frustration with politics—
and politicians—as usual.
America’s strength lies in its government “by the people, for the people,” but too many of
those people feel they are now just labeled featureless residents of “flyover country,” told
what to think and what they can and cannot do by an entrenched, reigning class of elites.
O’Donnell’s candidacy gave hope that the voices of real people—the people—not only can be
heard but can also become a force. Part of this hope is invested in the nascent Tea Party, but
most of it is invested in individual voters who are willing to work hard and make sacrifices for
what they believe in, not what backroom dealing and a bloated federal government has
mandated is good for them.

CHRISTINE O’DONNELL was a candidate for U.S. Senate in Delaware, most recently in 2010 for the
Senate seat vacated by Joe Biden. She’s been dubbed the “Tea Party Darling,” “Troublemaker” by Time
and a leader of the “Second American Revolution” by the foreign press. She has appeared and contin-
ues to appear on and in a wide variety of media outlets, from Good Morning America to People, The Rush
Limbaugh Show to Hannity and maintains a robust national speaking schedule. She lives in Delaware.

Trouble Maker is about where O’Donnell

comes from—the Philadelphia suburbs with five
kids to a room—and what she weathered in the
2010 election. But the core of the book is a
clear, straightforward discussion of an America
that yearns to embrace freedom and
opportunity through personal responsibility,
and how it is hamstrung and stymied by
excessive regulation, taxation, and the sanct-
imony of a “nanny state.” And Trouble Maker
will deliver an important, rousing message
about what we do with the quiet anger in
America today: where we can go, and how
strong we can be, from here. Warning readers
that challenging the status quo makes the
political establishment push back, O’Donnell
wants to build a movement that will continue
to goad it.
It’s practical, too, since O’Donnell believes in
power through participation: it’s not enough to

THE LEFTOVERS
TOM PERROTTA
A startling, thought-provoking novel about love, connection,
and loss from The New York Times bestselling author of
The Abstinence Teacher and Little Children
What if the Rapture happened and you got left behind? Or what if it wasn’t the Rapture at
all, but something murkier, a burst of mysterious, apparently random disappearances that
shattered the world in a single moment, dividing history into Before and After, leaving no one
unscathed? How would you rebuild your life in the wake of such a devastating event?
This is the question confronting the bewildered citizens of Mapleton, a formerly
comfortable suburban community that lost over a hundred people in the Sudden Departure.
Kevin Garvey, the new mayor, wants to speed up the healing process, to bring a sense of
renewed hope and purpose to his traumatized neighbors, even as his own family falls apart.
His wife, Laurie, has left him to enlist in the Guilty Remnant, a homegrown cult whose
members take a vow of silence but haunt the streets as “living reminders” of God’s judgment.
His son, Tom, is gone, too, dropping out of college to follow a sketchy prophet by the name of
Holy Wayne. Only Kevin’s teenaged daughter, Jill, remains, and she’s definitely not the sweet
“A” student she used to be. Kevin wants to help her, but he’s distracted by his growing
attraction to Nora Durst, a woman who lost her entire family in the tragedy, and is still reeling
three years later, groping for a way to face the remainder of her life.
Through the prism of a single family, Perrotta illuminates a familiar America made strange
by grief and apocalyptic anxiety. The Leftovers is a powerful and deeply moving book about
people struggling to hold onto a belief in their own futures in the face of their greatest fears.

TOM PERROTTA is the author of six works of fiction, including The Wishbones, Election and Joe College.
His novels Election and Little Children were made into acclaimed and award-winning movies. He lives
outside of Boston, Massachusetts.

THE BALLAD OF TOM

DOOLEY
A Novel
SHARYN MCCRUMB
A literary triumph—what began as a fictional re-telling of the
historical account of one of the most famous mountain ballads
of all time became an astonishing revelation of the real culprit
responsible for the murder of Laura Foster
Hang down your head, Tom Dooley…The folk song, made famous by the Kingston Trio,
recounts a tragedy in the North Carolina mountains after the Civil War. Laura Foster, a simple
country girl, was murdered and her lover Tom Dula was hanged for the crime. The sensational
elements in the case attracted national attention: a man and his beautiful, married lover
accused of murdering the other woman; the former governor of North Carolina spearheading
the defense; and a noble gesture from the prisoner on the eve of his execution, saving the
woman he really loved, Ann Melton.
With the help of historians, lawyers, and researchers, Sharyn McCrumb visited the actual
sites, studied the legal evidence, and uncovered a missing piece of the story that will shock
those who think they already know what happened—and may also bring belated justice to an
innocent man. What seemed at first to be a sordid tale of adultery and betrayal was
transformed by the new discoveries into an Appalachian Wuthering Heights. Tom Dula and
Ann Melton had a profound romance spoiled by the machinations of their servant, Pauline
Foster.
Bringing the star-crossed lovers of this mountain tragedy to life, Sharyn McCrumb gifts
understanding and compassion to her compelling tales of Appalachia, and solidifies her status
as one of today’s great Southern writers.

SHARYN MCCRUMB’s books have been named Notable Books of the Year by the New York Times, she
has been named as a “Virginia Women of History” and won the Appalachian Writer of the Year Award.

GODDESS OF VENGEANCE
JACKIE COLLINS
Jackie Collins’ fierce heroine Lucky Santangelo is back with a
vengeance—in a novel full of power, passion, revenge, and the
raging family dynamics of the Santangelo clan—and, as always,
Lucky comes out on top
Lucky runs a high profile casino and hotel complex, The Keys in Vegas. Lennie, her ex-movie
star husband, is still writing and directing successful independent movies, while Max, her wild
and gorgeous teenage daughter is about to celebrate her 18th birthday, and her son, Bobby,
owns a string of hot clubs. Lucky has everything. Family. Love. Life.
Everything is exactly what billionaire businessman Armand Jordan is determined to take
from her one way or the other.
Born a Prince in the small but affluent Middle Eastern country of Akramshar, Armand
comes to America with his American mother at an early age, and rises to become a real estate
business titan. Armand regards women as nothing more than breeding mares or sexual
playthings, so when his people inform him that the one property he covets more than
anything, The Keys, is not for sale, he is shocked. That a mere woman would turn down his
offer to buy The Keys is unthinkable, and Armand vows to force Lucky’s hand whatever it takes.
And so the battle for power begins…
Meanwhile Bobby and Max are getting into their own trouble. Bobby inadvertently becomes
involved in his ex-best friend, Frankie Romano’s, drug problems, causing friction between him
and his girlfriend, L.A. Deputy D.A., Denver Jones. And young Max is getting restless. Not
interested in college, she fights with Lucky, and embarks on a series of adventures that could
turn out to have deadly consequences. They say “what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas” and
what happens in Goddess of Vengeance will blow your mind!

IT’S HARD NOT TO HATE

YOU
VALERIE FRANKEL
From the author of Thin Is The New Happy comes a hilarious
new memoir about embracing your Inner Hater; discovering that
you don’t have to be happy to be happy; you don’t have to love
everyone else to like yourself; and that your Bitchy Twin might
just be your funniest, most valuable and honest ally
“The hate in you has got to come out.” After being advised to reduce stress by her doctor,
humorist Valerie Frankel realized the biggest source of pressure in her life was maintaining an
unflappable easing-going persona. After years of glossing over the negative, Frankel goes on a
mission of emotional honesty, vowing to let herself feel and express all the toxic emotions
she’d long suppressed or denied: jealousy, rage, greed, envy, impatience, regret. Frankel reveals
her personal History of Hate, from mean girls in junior high, selfish boyfriends in her twenties
and old professional rivals. Hate stomps through her current life, too, with snobby neighbors,
rude cell phone talkers, scary doctors and helicopter moms. Regarding her husband, she asks,
“How Do I Hate You? Let Me Count the Ways.” (FYI: There are three.) But then she discovers
that the positive thinkers, aka The Secret crowd, have it backwards. Can Frankel use anger,
jealousy and impatience as tools to be a better, balanced and deeper person? It’s Hard Not to
Hate You sends the message that there are no wrong emotions, only wrong ways of dealing
with them.

VALERIE FRANKEL is the author of Thin Is The New Happy and such chick lit favorites as The
Accidental Virgin, The Girlfriend Curse, and Hex and the Single Girl. The former articles editor at
Mademoiselle, Valerie has contributed to the New York Times, O, Glamour, Allure, Self, Good
Housekeeping, among many other publications.

THE WALKING DEAD

The Rise of the Governor
ROBERT KIRKMAN AND JAY BONANSINGA
Following in the footsteps of the New York Times bestselling
graphic novels and the record-breaking new television show,
this debut novel in a trilogy of original Walking Dead books
chronicles the back story of the comic book series greatest
villain, The Governor
In The Walking Dead universe, there is no greater villain than The Governor. The despot who
runs the walled-off town of Woodbury, he has his own sick sense of justice: whether it’s
forcing prisoners to battle zombies in an arena for the townspeople’s amusement, or chopping
off the appendages of those who cross him. The Governor was voted “Villain of the Year” by
Wizard Magazine the year he debuted, and his story arc was the most controversial arc in the
history of The Walking Dead comic book series. Now, for the first time, fans of The Walking
Dead will discover how The Governor became the man he is, and what drove him to such
extremes.

“If the comic book writer Robert Kirkman were a superhero, his name might be the Midas

ROBERT KIRKMAN is best known for his work on The Walking Dead and Invincible for Image Comics,
as well as Ultimate X-Men and Marvel Zombies for Marvel Comics. He is one of the five partners of Image

ACROSS MANY MOUNTAINS

A Tibetan Family’s Epic Journey from Oppression to
Freedom
YANGZOM BRAUEN
A powerful, emotional memoir and an extraordinary portrait of
three generations of Tibetan women whose lives are forever
changed when Chairman Mao’s Red Army crushes Tibetan
independence, sending a young mother and her six-year-old
daughter on a treacherous journey across the snowy Himalayas
toward freedom
Kunsang thought she would never leave Tibet. One of the country’s youngest Buddhist
nuns, she grew up in a remote mountain village where, as a teenager, she entered the local
nunnery. Though simple, Kunsang’s life gave her all she needed: a oneness with nature and a
sense of the spiritual in all things. She married a monk, had two children, and lived in peace
and prayer. But not for long. There was a saying in Tibet: “When the iron bird flies and horses
run on wheels, the Tibetan people will be scattered like ants across the face of the earth.” The
Chinese invasion of Tibet in 1950 changed everything. When soldiers arrived at her mountain
monastery, destroying everything in their path, Kunsang and her family fled across the
Himalayas only to spend years in Indian refugee camps. She lost both her husband and her
youngest child on that journey, but the future held an extraordinary turn of events that would
forever change her life—the arrival of a cultured young Swiss man long fascinated with Tibet.
Martin Brauen will fall instantly in love with Kunsang’s young daughter, Sonam, eventually
winning her heart and hand, and taking mother and daughter with him to Switzerland, where
Yangzom will be born.

Born in 1980 to a Swiss father and Tibetan mother,YANGZOM BRAUEN is an actress, model, and
political activist. She lives in both Los Angeles and Berlin and has appeared in a number of German
and American films. She is also very active in the Free Tibet movement, making regular radio broad-
casts about Tibet and organizing public demonstrations against the Chinese occupation of Tibet.

COUP D’ETAT
BEN COES
The wait is over—Ben Coes, whose debut Power Down was
called “the must read thriller of the year” (Vince Flynn) is back
and at the top of his game with a mesmerizing new novel

Wanting only a peaceful, obscure life, Dewey Andreas has gone to rural Australia, far from
turbulent forces that he once fought against. But powerful men, seeking revenge, have been
scouring the earth looking for Dewey. And now, they’ve finally found him—forcing Dewey to
abandon his home and to fight for his life against a very well armed, well trained group of
assassins.
Meanwhile, a radical cleric has been elected president of Pakistan and, upon taking power,
sets off a rapidly escalating conflict with India. As the situation spins quickly out of control, it
becomes clear that India is only days from resorting to a nuclear response, one that will have
unimaginably disastrous results for the world at large. With only days to head this off, the
President sends in his best people, including Jessica Tanzer, to do whatever it takes to restore
the fragile peace to the region. Tanzer has only one viable option—to set up and execute a coup
d’etat in Pakistan—and only one man in mind to lead the team that will try to pull off this
almost unimaginable task in the nerve-wrackingly short time frame, Dewey Andreas. If, that
is, Jessica can even get to Dewey and if Dewey can get out of Australia alive.

“Power Down is one of the must-read thrillers of the year...you’ll devour this one and wait

THE FAVORED QUEEN

A Novel of Henry VIII’s Third Wife
CAROLLY ERICKSON

From the New York Times bestselling author of The Last Wife
of Henry VIII comes a powerful and moving novel about Jane
Seymour, third wife of Henry VIII, who married him only days
after the execution of Anne Boleyn and ultimately lost her own
life in giving him the son he badly needed to guarantee the
Tudor succession

Born into an ambitious noble family, young Jane Seymour is sent to Court as a Maid of Honor to
Catherine of Aragon, Henry VIII’s aging queen. She is devoted to her mistress and watches with empathy
as the calculating Anne Boleyn contrives to supplant her as queen. Anne’s single-minded intriguing
threatens all who stand in her way; she does not hesitate to arrange the murder of a woman who knows a
secret so dark that, if revealed, would make it impossible for the king to marry Anne.
Once Anne becomes queen, no one at court is safe, and Jane herself becomes the object of Anne’s
venomous rage when she suspects Jane has become the object of the king’s lust. Henry, fearing that Anne’s
inability to give him a son is a sign of divine wrath, asks Jane to become his next queen. Deeply reluctant
to embark on such a dangerous course, Jane must choose between her heart and her loyalty to the king.
Acclaimed biographer and bestselling novelist Carolly Erickson weaves another of her irresistible
historical entertainments about the queen who finally gave Henry VIII his longed for heir, set against the
excitement and danger of the Tudor Court.

Among CAROLLY ERICKSON’s twenty-eight critically acclaimed, prize-winning, bestselling books are
biographies, histories and the recent series of fictional historical entertainments. Her range is wide,
her audience worldwide. She lives in Hawaii.

THE FALL OF THE HOUSE

OF FORBES
The Inside Story of the Collapse of a Media Empire
STEWART PINKERTON
A Forbes insider’s riveting true-life business thriller reveals the
hubris, greed, personal quirks and awful decisions that helped
bring down a media icon
In this no-secret-left-uncovered look at the rise and fall of the Forbes family, veteran
financial journalist Stewart Pinkerton, who worked there for 20 years, brings to life the often
incredible machinations and foibles of a century-old media dynasty that rose to glittering
heights and crashed just as spectacularly.
This is the first book that takes us to the ritualized formal lunches inside the mansion-like
headquarters building at 60 Fifth Ave in New York, the lavish advertiser parties on board the
family yacht, The Highlander, through the glory days of the ad-stuffed magazine edited by the
legendarily irascible Jim Michaels, to the devastating family split over digital strategy that
ultimately led to investors, including the rock musician Bono, removing the family from day-
to-day control. It offers telling new details of the often-outrageous behavior of motorcycle-
riding, hot-air ballooning, Liz Taylor-squiring, Malcolm Forbes and his shy, sometimes
bumbling son Steve, the erstwhile presidential candidate, and a hopelessly divided family
unable to protect the family jewels.

STEWART PINKERTON is former Managing Editor of Forbes magazine and former Deputy Managing
Editor of The Wall Street Journal.

HARBOR
JOHN AJVIDE LINDQVIST
“John Ajvide Lindqvist is rightly seen as one of the most exciting
writers working in the horror genre at the moment—a rival,
indeed, to Stephen King.” —TheScotsman.com
From the author of the international and New York Times bestseller Let the Right One In (Let
Me In) comes this stunning and terrifying book which begins when a man’s six-year-old
daughter vanishes. One ordinary winter afternoon on a snowy island, Anders and Cecilia take
their six-year-old daughter Maja across the ice to visit the lighthouse in the middle of the
frozen channel. While the couple explore the lighthouse, Maja disappears—either into thin air
or under thin ice—leaving not even a footprint in the snow. Two years later, alone and more or
less permanently drunk, Anders returns to the island to regroup. He slowly realizes that the
island’s residents are not telling him all they know about his daughter’s disappearance; even
his own grandmother, it seems, is keeping secrets. What is happening, and what power does
the sea have over the town’s inhabitants?
As he did with Let the Right One In and Handling the Undead, John Ajvide Lindqvist serves
up a wave of suspense in a narrative that barely pauses for breath before pulling readers under.

International Praise for Harbor:

“This is a third consecutive masterpiece for an author who deserves to be as much of a house-
hold name as Stephen King.” — SFX.CO.UK

“Lindqvist is Sweden’s answer to Stephen King.” — T H E M I R RO R (UK)

JOHN AJVIDE LINDQVIST is the author of Let the Right One In and Handling the Undead. Prior to
becoming a writer, he first became a conjurer, and then was a stand-up comedian. Let the Right One In
has been made into two critically acclaimed films, one in Sweden and one in the United States. The
Swedish film, directed by Tomas Alfredsson, was released in 2008 to rave reviews in the U.S. It won
top honors at 16 film festivals around the globe, including the Tribeca Film Festival. The American
remake of the Swedish movie, entitled Let Me In, was released in October 2010 to rave reviews. Both
versions are available on DVD.

BONNIE
IRIS JOHANSEN
The #1 New York Times bestselling author delivers the much-
anticipated conclusion to the trilogy that began with Eve and
was followed by Quinn
When Eve Duncan gave birth to Bonnie, she experienced a love she never knew existed.
Eve’s entire life came into focus and nothing was going to stand in the way of giving her
daughter a wonderful life—the kind of life she herself never experienced.
And then, the unthinkable happened. On an ordinary class trip to a local park, seven-
year-old Bonnie vanished. Eve found herself in the throes of a nightmare that permeated
her days and nights, and from which there was no escape. But a new Eve emerged: a
woman who would use her remarkable talent as a forensic sculptor and her passion for
helping others to find closure when the unthinkable happens to their child. A woman who
would stop at nothing to find her own daughter’s killer and bring her body home. A woman
with both justice and vengeance on her mind.
Finally, in the trilogy that began with Eve and continued with Quinn, comes the story
that fans have been dying to read. With the help of her beloved Joe Quinn and CIA Agent
Catherine Ling, Eve Duncan gets closer and closer to answering the questions that have
tormented her. But the deeper she digs, the more she realizes that Bonnie’s father, John
Gallo, is a key player in solving this monstrous puzzle. And that Bonnie’s disappearance
was not as random as everyone had always believed.
Eve, Joe, Catherine, and John find themselves in a deadly dance where answers will be
uncovered, and justice might finally be served—if they can all stay alive.

IRIS JOHANSEN is the New York Times bestselling author of Eve, Quinn, Chasing the Night, Eight
Days To Live, Blood Game, Deadlock, Dark Summer, Pandora’s Daughter, Quicksand, Killer Dreams,

SUICIDE OF A SUPERPOWER
Will America Survive to 2025?
PATRICK J. BUCHANAN
Pat Buchanan’s latest polemic—and his first since Obama’s
election—exposes the risks America faces today and what those
dangers will mean for the country’s future

Since Obama took office, conservative pundits have been mainstays on the bestseller list.
And now, the bestselling author and political legend Pat Buchanan weighs in with a warning
against not only the dangers that the country faces under Obama, but the risk of sliding into
irrelevancy that the Republican party faces if it chooses to forget its core values.
As he shows in this incisive book, liberal policy-making and unhindered globalization have
eroded America’s economic strength. Changing demographics and declining faith portend a
future in which the Republican Party and Christianity will become irrelevant. If things
continue unchanged, Buchanan warns, in a few short decades our country will be
unrecognizable.
But, there are alternatives. And Buchanan finds signs of hope for conservatives and outlines
plans for a very different future that the newly ascendant Republicans and Tea Partiers can use
in Congress and nationwide.
A major force in conservative opinion and a longtime political commentator, Buchanan’s
strident and impassioned argument against the direction in which America is heading will find
an eager audience in today’s high-pressure political climate.

PATRICK J. BUCHANAN, America’s leading populist conservative, was senior advisor to three
American presidents, ran for the Republican nomination in 1992 and 1996, and was the Reform Party’s
presidential candidate in 2000. The author of eight other books, Buchanan is a syndicated columnist
and founding member of three of America’s foremost public affairs shows, NBC’s The McLaughlin Group,
and CNN’s The Capitol Gang and Crossfire. He lives in McLean, Virginia.

in the coming weeks the landlord needs Melissa to empty her mother’s apartment. Gretchen
reaches out and offers to help, but the apartment is a gut wrenching shamble of a home. There

the bed. It is unfinished but in the two scribbled lines, Melissa discovers she has a brother and
a sister that she never knew about. Even more shocking, she begins to uncover family secrets
that show her who she really is. Can two very different women embark on a journey that

ARTISAN PIZZA AND

FLATBREAD IN FIVE
MINUTES A DAY
JEFF HERTZBERG, M.D., AND ZOË FRANÇOIS;
PHOTOGRAPHY BY MARK LUINENBURG
From the bestselling authors of the ground-breaking, hugely
popular Artisan Bread in Five Minutes a Day, comes a new
cookbook featuring their revolutionary approach to bread-
making, this time especially for pizza and flatbreads
With nearly half a million copies of their books in print, Jeff Hertzberg and Zoë François
have proven that people want to bake their own bread, provided they can do it easily and
quickly. After hearing tons of fan feedback, Jeff and Zoë couldn’t escape a basic truth: readers
found their pizza and flatbread recipes to be the fastest in the books. If you have a batch of
their stored dough in the fridge, and a pre-heated oven, you are minutes away from having
piping-hot pizza. For busy people, there is no faster dinner preparation.
In Artisan Pizza and Flatbread in Five Minutes a Day, Jeff and Zoë will show readers how to
use their innovative techniques for lightning-fast breads to make pizzas, flatbreads, and sweet
and savory tarts from stored, no-knead dough. The authors also include soups, salads and
spreads that turn flatbread or pizza into a complete meal.
The authors met in their children’s music class in 2003 and wrote the best-selling Artisan Bread in Five
Minutes a Day, and Healthy Bread in Five Minutes a Day. They answer reader questions at
www.PizzaIn5.com. JEFF HERTZBERG, M.D., grew up eating New York pizza and spent years trying
to figure out how to make dough that was convenient enough to use for daily pizza, flatbreads, and
loaves. But really, he just wanted to learn to throw pizza dough high into the air. He lives in Minneapolis
with his wife and two daughters. ZOË FRANÇOIS is a pastry chef trained at the Culinary Institute
of America, but she is a pizzaiola at heart. While writing this book she traveled far and wide to eat every
pizza and flatbread she could find. In addition to tossing pizzas, she creates desserts on her pastry blog
www.zoebakes.com. She lives in Minneapolis with her husband and two sons.

THE SPIRIT OF CHRISTMAS

With A Foreword by Debbie Macomber
CECIL MURPHEY AND MARLEY GIBSON
A heartwarming collection of true stories that will inspire,
entertain, and get everyone into the spirit of Christmas

At Christmastime, it’s hard not to get caught up in the shopping, the decorating, the party
planning and the family drama—and too often we lose sight of the true meaning of the season.
But sometimes, through God’s grace or a simple twist of fate, we’re able to step back and
understand what the holiday is truly about.
The Spirit of Christmas is an inspiring collection of true stories from real-life people who have
experienced such moments where the meaning of the season becomes clear and touches their
hearts. A man mailing gifts at the post office witnesses a moving scene that changes his life
forever. An unhappy couple are drifting further apart until a special Christmas gift allows them
to renew their love and mend their fractured marriage. A father tries to keep the spirit of
Christmas alive for his son with a grand gesture—a gesture that will be remembered by his
family and many others for years to come.
Filled with magic, wonder and deep meaning, it’s impossible for these stories not to touch
your heart.

THE NINE LIVES OF

CHRISTMAS
SHEILA ROBERTS

Bestselling author Sheila Roberts brings us a humorous, heart-

warming Christmas novel about a matchmaking cat who brings
a couple together just in time for the holidays

When a guy is in trouble, he starts making deals with his Creator…and Ambrose the cat is
no exception. In danger of losing his ninth and final life, Ambrose makes a desperate plea.
He’ll do anything—anything!—if he can just survive and enjoy a nice long, final life. His prayer
is answered when a stranger comes along and saves him, and now it looks like he has to hold
up his end of the bargain.
The stranger turns out to be a fire fighter named Zach, the quintessential commitment-
phobe who’s in need of some serious romantic help. If Ambrose can just bring Zach together
with Merilee, the nice lady who works at Pet Palace, it’s bound to earn him a healthy ninth
life. Unfortunately for Ambrose, his mission is a lot harder than he ever anticipated. Now it’s
going to take all his feline wiles—and a healthy dose of Christmas magic—to bring them all
together in time for the holidays.

SHEILA ROBERTS lives in the Pacific Northwest. She is the author of six previous novels, including On
Strike for Christmas, which was recently made into a Lifetime Original movie.

THE SISTERS
A Novel
NANCY JENSEN

In the tradition of Marilynne Robinson’s Housekeeping and

Elizabeth Strout’s Olive Kitteridge, a dazzling debut novel
about the family bonds that remain even when they seem
irretrievably torn apart

Growing up in hardscrabble Kentucky in the 1920s, with their mother dead and their
stepfather an ever-present threat, Bertie Fisher and her older sister Mabel have no one but
each other—with perhaps a sweetheart for Bertie waiting in the wings. But on the day that
Bertie receives her eighth-grade diploma, good intentions go terribly wrong, setting off a chain
of misunderstandings that will send the sisters on separate paths and reverberate through
their daughters’ and granddaughters’ lives.
What happens when things don’t turn out the way that you planned? From the Depression
through World War II and Vietnam, and smaller events both tragic and joyful, Bertie and
Mabel forge unexpected identities and raise daughters—and sisters—of their own, learning that
love and betrayal are even more complicated than they seem. Gorgeously written, with
extraordinary insight and emotional truth, Nancy Jensen’s debut novel illuminates the far-
reaching power of family and family secrets.

NANCY JENSEN is a graduate of the MFA in Writing Program at Vermont College. Her short stories
and essays have appeared in numerous literary journals, including Northwest Review, Other Voices, Under
the Sun, and The Louisville Review. She lives in Kentucky, where she was awarded an Artist Enrichment
Grant from the Kentucky Foundation for Women and an Al Smith Fellowship from the Kentucky Arts
Council. This is her first novel.

Church was the son of Senator Frank Church of Idaho, famous
for combating the Vietnam War in the 1960s and the CIA in
the 1970s. Like many sons of powerful fathers, he rebelled and
took a different path in life. Then, at the height of his fame, he
fell in love with a married parishioner and nearly lost his pulpit.
Eventually, he regained his stature, overcame long-secret
alcoholism, wrote his best books—and found himself
diagnosed with terminal cancer. His three year public journey
toward death in 2009 brought into focus the preciousness of
life, not only for himself, but for his ministry.
Based on extraordinary access to Church and over 200
interviews with family, friends, and colleagues, Dan Cryer
offers an honest look at an imperfect man and his lasting
influence on modern faith.

THE BATTLE OF THE CRATER

A Novel
NEWT GINGRICH AND WILLIAM R. FORSTCHEN
The New York Times bestselling team delivers their most
ambitious work to date—the power and scope of The Killer
Angels meets the page-turning pace of John Grisham
August, 1864: A court of inquiry convenes at the Union Army headquarters to investigate
the Battle of the Crater, one of the worst disasters endured by a disaster-prone army. The eyes
of the world are on it, and much is at stake: the military news of that spring had been full of
unrelenting frustration and outright catastrophe. Lincoln is losing the election, and with it,
the war. Fearing the worst, the President calls on his old friend, reporter James O’Reilly, to
cover the resulting court of inquiry and file a confidential report on what really happened.
The battle could have turned the tide in favor of the North and changed everything. Fort
Pegram, the closest point between the Union and Confederate lines surrounding Petersburg,
was the most vulnerable point on the Confederate line. General Ambrose Burnside’s plan of
attack was brilliant: dig a tunnel forward from the Union position underneath the fort, pack
it with powder, and explode it. Burnside intended to give the brand-new African American
division of his army the honor of leading the assault that would end the war. But instead of a
glorious victory, the Battle of the Crater became a miserable failure—a debacle which led to
the deaths of thousands of Union troops.

Praise for the works of Newt Gingrich and William R. Forstchen:

ONLY TIME WILL TELL

JEFFREY ARCHER

International bestselling author Jeffrey Archer returns to the

sweeping sagas that made him beloved by millions with Only
Time Will Tell, the first in an ambitious five-book series

From the popular author of Kane and Abel and A Prisoner of Birth comes the story of one
family across generations, across oceans, from heartbreak to triumph.
The epic tale of Harry Clifton’s life begins in 1920, with the words, “I was told that my
father was killed in the war.” A dock worker in Bristol, Harry never knew his father, but he
learns about life on the docks from his uncle who expects Harry to join him at the shipyard
once he’s left school. But then his unexpected gift wins him a scholarship to an exclusive boys’
school, and his life will never be the same again.
As he enters into adulthood, Harry finally learns how his father really died, but the awful
truth only leads him to question who was his father? Is he the son of Arthur Clifton, a
stevedore who spent his whole life on the docks, or the first-born son of a scion of West
Country society, whose family owns a shipping line?
This introductory novel in The Clifton Chronicles includes a cast of colorful characters and
takes us from the ravages of the Great War to the outbreak of the Second World War, when
Harry must decide whether to take up a place at Oxford or join the navy and go to war with
Hitler’s Germany. From the docks of working-class England to the bustling streets of 1940
New York City, Only Time Will Tell takes readers on a journey through to future volumes, which
will bring to life one hundred years of recent history to reveal a family story that neither the
reader nor Harry Clifton himself could ever have imagined.

BEST FRIENDS,
OCCASIONAL ENEMIES
The Lighter Side of Life as a Mother and Daughter
LISA SCOTTOLINE AND FRANCESCA SERRITELLA
From the New York Times bestselling writing team comes
a hilarious new collection of essays that observe life from
a mother/daughter perspective
New York Times bestselling author Lisa Scottoline and her daughter Francesca Serritella are
the best of friends—99.9% of the time. They’re number one on each other’s speed dial and they
tell each other everything—well, almost everything. They share shoes and clothes—except one
very special green jacket, which almost caused a catfight.
In other words, they’re just like every mother and daughter in the world. Best friends, and
occasional enemies. Now they’re dishing about it all—their lives, their relationship, and their
carb count.
Inspired by their weekly column, “Chick Wit” for The Philadelphia Inquirer, this book is one
you’ll have to put down—just to stop laughing.

“Scottoline stirs up even more sassy fun—this time bringing her daughter, Francesca, into
the mix as co-writer. A clever compilation from two generations of women reflecting on fam-
ily, love, dessert, and everything in between.”

divisive of royal families. In The Royal Stuarts, author Allan
marketing Massie brings the family’s most and infamous members,
• Academic Marketing including Mary Queen of Scots, Charles I and Bonnie Prince
Campaign Charlie, to life. Exploring the family’s lineage from the first
Stuart king to the last, Massie provides a panoramic history of
the family who acted as a major player in the Scottish Wars of
Independence, the Union of the Crowns, the English Civil War,
the Restoration, and more. The Royal Stuarts is the gripping
true story of backstabbing, betrayal, and ambition gone awry.

“It drips with blood, cruelty and tears...Evocative, vis-

ceral—haunting.” — D A I LY T E L E G R A P H (UK)

“Stirring and eloquent account of the Stuarts.”

— S C OT L A N D O N S U N D AY

“A pleasure to read and psychologically compelling.”
