Dive Club Meeting

The club trips organised for this year are nearly completely full, so
if you are interested in joining us on any of trips with spaces
remaining, please pay your £10 deposit before it is too late!

At Chapeltown Swimming Pool
As Dive Club members, you can use the pool for only £5 per person,
during our pool sessions, using your own kit, or just £15 per person
including rental of full kit. So whether you just want to refresh your
skills, have a piece of new kit to try out or just having that burning desire
to get wet.

If you are interested in diving in this country using a Dry Suit
advised for your own safety and comfort during your dives. This
course teaches you the essential techniques required to safely use
a dry suit.

PADI Wreck Diver

Dates: Saturday 11th and 12th June
Location: Stoney Cove
Cost: £165 for four dives
Gain the knowledge and training necessary to be safe and
confident divers in and around wrecks.
This course consists of a classroom session and four dives spread
over 2 days,

PADI Project Aware and PADI Coral Reef Conservation Specialties

Location: Dive Centre
Costs: £75 each or £130 for both.
We will be donating 50% of the course fees for these specialties
towards our ProjectAware fundraising efforts.
Learn about the environmental issues facing the world’s oceans,
what we can do to help save the aquatic environment for future
generations to enjoy.

PADI Boat Diver and PADI Drift Diver
Dates: Saturday 30th and Sunday 31st July
Location: Farnes Islands
Cost: £95 for each course plus the cost of the club trip which is £80
for the weekend.
We are running these two specialty courses, during the Dive Club
trip to the Farne Islands, and are highly recommended for all
qualified divers who have not had any experience of sea diving in
the UK.

PADI Peak Performance Buoyancy Specialty

Mastering and controlling your buoyancy is a skill, which will
improve all aspects of your diving.

PADI Rescue Diver

Location: Rother Valley
Date: Saturday 20th August

Are you ready to take more responsibility for your diving?
This course is hard work but it is a very rewarding one as you get
the opportunity to learn and practice the various rescue techniques
that might just save the life of a fellow diver!
This course is an essential prerequisite for the PADI Master Scuba
Diver qualification and the PADI Divemaster course.

upto 40%

No matter how many times you have dived at a dive site during the
day, diving it at night puts a whole new perspective on it, with the
chance to observe the different night-time behaviour of the fish,
and other aquatic residents.

PADI Enriched Air Diver Specialty

Learn all about Diving using Enriched Air (Nitrox), covers the

For any suitably qualified divers (minimum of PADI Rescue Diver)

PADI Assistant Instructor Course

For qualified PADI Divemasters, wishing to take the next step to
becoming a fully qualified scuba instructor, we will be starting our

Project AWARE
To follow on from last year’s successful fund raising effort for
Project Aware, we are currently in the process of planning our fund
raising efforts for this year.
Barbeque and Auction Evening
On Saturday 23th July, starting at 5pm will be holding a family
barbeque and auction at the dive centre.
Project Aware Weekend.
This year we are aiming to organise a beach and underwater clean
up at Flamborough during the weekend, and are looking for
suggestions for other activities we can organise during this
weekend, please let Alison know ASAP.

Club Events and Trips Calendar

If you have any other ideas for club trips for next year, please let
us know at the next club meeting, so we can organise and book
boats etc...

This is because we need to book early to ensure that we can have

access to the best boats at each destination.

If you want to secure a place for next year’s trips you must
bring £10 per trip to the meeting otherwise your name cannot
be put down to reserve a place.

Anyone who pays a deposit and revokes must pay for the trip in
full if you do not find anyone to take your place as we have to
book and pay for our boats in advance.

Guided Sea Dives

We are now offering guided sea dives for anyone who has not been
on a boat before or been in the sea for the price of £25.00 per day
for a PADI professional to take you diving.

On our trips we will put the names of the Divemasters and

Instructors who will be willing to take you on a guided dive and
you pay the £25.00 to the Divemaster / instructor direct to
contribute towards their trip cost.

This will enable you to have peace of mind that you can conduct a
buoyancy check and be shown all the fabulous critters underwater.
