Little Spark’s first campaign seeks to provide poor, mostly
illiterate child laborers in India with basic education that
will empower them in their understanding of and interac-
tion with their direct environment. Increased literacy will
also promote their chances of improving their standard
of living. We are targeting children who work as domestic
help in homes across India.
This summer...
Why build one school, when you can build a thousand?
Why choose between taking a break and breaking the
cycle of poverty?
Our volunteers will help teach an underpriveledged child
who works as domestic help in their neighbourhood or
their own residence, from their own homes during the 2011
academic break. Teaching will be activity oriented, using
specially designed Little Spark online tools and teaching
aids to impart general skills such as learning numbers to tell
time. Our carefully developed lesson plans make learn-
ing effective and fun, with guided instructions from social
workers.
Volunteering with us will not only change the life of the
child you help, but your own too.
Requirements
The volunteers must have a laptop with access to inter-
net in their residence, and be willing to spend at least one
hour a day, 3-5 times a week (4- 6 weeks), teaching his or
