Recapitulare pronunție

1. Litera “E”

- În interiorul unui cuvânt, litera “E” se poate pronunța [i], [e] sau [ə] - ă.

[i]: keep, speech, leave, bean

[e]: stress, question, there, however, terrible

[ə]: channel, letter, problem, member

- Atunci când se află la sfârșitul unui cuvânt format din mai multe silabe, litera “E” nu se

pronunță de obicei, dar afectează pronunția cuvântului din care face parte

2. Litera “A”

- Atunci când cuvântul se termină cu “E”, litera “A” se pronunță [ei]: face, wave, take, make

- Atunci când cuvântul se termină cu “R”, litera “A” se pronunță [a]: bar, car, jar, far

- Atunci când cuvântul se termină cu alte litere, litera “A” se pronunță [e]: fat, rat, sad, man

3. Litera “I”

- Atunci când cuvântul se termină cu “E”, litera “I” se pronunță [ai]: life, smile, bike

- Atunci când cuvântul se termină cu alte litere, litera “I” se pronunță [i]: big, kid, lip, hit

Possessive Adjectives – Adjective posesive

Adjectivele posesive:

 au formă identică, indiferent de numărul substantivului pe care îl determină (my dress,

my dresses);
 precedă substantivul.
Remarcăm că adjectivul posesiv your este identic pentru persoana a II-a singular (your shirt -
cămaşa ta) şi persoana a II-a plural (your shirts - cămăşile voastre), la persoana a II-a vom
regăsi multe elemente identice pentru singular şi plural.

De asemenea, notăm că genurile substantivului în limba engleză nu se aseamănă cu cele din

limba română. Ele sunt mult mai simple și nu influențează structurile care determină
substantivul. Așadar, adjectivul posesiv rămâne neschimbat, indiferent de substantiv.

Colors for adjectives

Culorile au formă identică, indiferent de cuvintele pe care le determină. Cu alte cuvinte, sunt
invariabile, la fel ca adjectivele posesive.

 My suit is blue. → Costumul meu este albastru.

Interogativ – Is my suit blue?
N My suit is not blue
 My dress is blue. → Rochia mea este albastră.
 My shoes are blue. → Pantofii mei sunt albaştri.
 My gloves are blue. → Mănuşile mele sunt albastre
Are my gloves blue?
My gloves are not blue
Is your child home?
My husband is working.
Is my husband working?
Outside is raining.

 Afirmativ: S + V + (...) → My dress is red.

 Interogativ: V + S + (...) + ? → Is my dress red?
 Negativ: S + V + not + (...) → My dress is not red.
Observăm că, în fiecare caz, adjectivul posesiv stă imediat înaintea substantivului pe care îl
determină.

Vreau să rezerv un zbor spre Atena.

I’d like to book a flight to Athens.

Este un zbor direct?

Is it a direct flight?

Vă rog un loc la geam, nefumători.

A window seat, non-smoking, please. – Can I have a window seat, non-smoking, please?

Vreau să confirm rezervarea mea.
