1. What is Any 8 IDD?

Any 8 IDD is a feature which allows you to enjoy low IDD call rates in Sri Lanka at premium
quality for up to 8 preferred IDD numbers which you nominate.

2. What are the rates applicable if I nominate an IDD number in my Any 8

IDD list?
The rates applicable for your nominated IDD numbers for Any 8 IDD will be based on the rate
table shown below. IDD calls are billed on per second basis and the rates are subject to taxes.

3. What is the difference between Any 8 IDD and Buddy IDD?

Any 8 IDD in most cases uses the TDM (Time Division Multiplexing) technology which guarantees
premium call quality and enables your number to appear on the CLI of the party you called.

Buddy IDD uses in most cases VOIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) and satellite technologies,
which do not guarantee the best call quality or your number to appear on the CLI of the party
you called.

4. What is the activation fee for the Any 8 IDD feature?

Activation of Any 8 IDD feature is free of charge and free of any rentals.
5. If I am a SMART Pre Paid customer am I eligible for the Any 8 IDD
feature?
Yes, SMART Pre Paid users can enjoy the Any 8 IDD feature since the IDD service is pre enabled
on a SMART connection.

6. If I am on an Upahara package or any other Post Paid package, am I

eligible for the Any 8 IDD feature?
Other Post paid and Upahara users with the IDD service enabled on their number can enjoy the
Any 8 IDD feature.

7. If I am an Upahara package user who does not have the IDD service
enabled on my number, what do I have to do to enjoy the Any 8 IDD
feature?
In order to enable the IDD service on your Upahara package you will have to SMS the short code
IDDACT to 6677 from your handset.

8. If I am on a POST PAID package without the IDD service enabled on my

number, what do I have to do to enjoy the Any 8 IDD feature?
You would have to initially enable the IDD service on your number with a refundable deposit of
Rs.2000 and subsequently activate the Any 8 IDD feature.

9. How do I activate the Any 8 IDD feature?

To activate Any 8 IDD on a SMART Pre Paid plan or Post Paid plan enabled with IDD just SMS
any8act to 433 from your Handset.

If you are on a SMART Pre Paid plan, you can also activate Any 8 IDD by calling the self care line
141 and selecting option 4.
10. How do I nominate IDD Numbers to my Any 8 IDD List?
To nominate an IDD number/s in your Any 8 IDD list SMS any8add#00 Country code with the
number to 433

E.g: To nominate the IDD numbers 004478178200,006198765432,009112345678 in you Any 8

IDD list SMS any8add#004478178200#006198765432#009112345678 to 433.

If you are on a SMART Pre Paid plan, you can also nominate your preferred IDD numbers to your
Any 8 IDD list by calling the self care line 141 and selecting option 5 followed by option 1.

11. Is there a specific format which I should dial the nominated Any 8
IDD number on my Any 8 IDD list to enjoy the special rates?
In order to enjoy the applicable Any 8 rates you will have to dial the nominated IDD number in
the format in which you have nominated the number on your Any 8 IDD list.

12. What happens if I dial my nominated IDD number on the Any 8

IDD List using the IDD buddy dialing format?
The call will be directed as a Buddy IDD call and not an ANY 8 IDD call.

13. How do I replace a nominated IDD number on my Any 8 IDD list

with a new one?
To change the IDD number/s in your Any 8 IDD list SMS any8chg#existing IDD number with 00
Country code(space)New IDD number with 00 country code to 433.

Please note that a charge of Rs.10 + taxes will apply for each change.

E.g: To change the IDD number 004478178200 and nominate 0061123456278 in your Any 8 IDD
list SMS any8chg#004478178200(space)0061123456278 to 433.

If you are on a SMART Pre Paid plan you can also nominate your preferred IDD numbers into
your Any 8 IDD list by calling the self care line 141 and selecting option 5 followed by option 2.
14. How do I view the IDD numbers I have added to my Any 8 IDD list?
To view the IDD numbers nominated in your Any 8 list, SMS myany8 to 433

If you are on a SMART Pre Paid plan, you can listen to the list of IDD numbers nominated on
your Any 8 IDD list by calling the self care line 141 and selecting option 5 followed by option 3.

15. How do I terminate the Any 8 IDD feature on my number?

To terminate the Any 8 IDD feature on your SMART Pre Paid or Post Paid plan you will have to
SMS NOA8 to 433 from your handset.
