In response to this global problem, RedSalvavidas proposes this Living Laboratory (living lab) to
mitigate the impact of emergencies and disasters, from the adoption of Information and
Communication Technology and Technologies (ICT’s). This motivation is based on encouraging
the appropriation of new technologies into segments that we believe should be aligned in a timely
manner around emergencies and disasters risks management processes.

Highlight of LL objectives and profile/domain……

The Living Lab LifeSavers Network in Risk Management and ICT’s has as its guidelines to
support, promote and contribute in research and development (specifically in ENoLL) in the use
and application of ICT’s in risk management global activities.

Know how Areas:: Risk management, emergencies and natural disasters, application and use of
ICT’s in emergencies, systems and simulation software, mathematical simulation models,
prevention and emergency response systems, telecommunications during emergencies, control
and citizen oversight in prevention processes, response, rehabilitation and reconstruction

emergencies, coordination of digital volunteering activities around risk management activities.
Additional Groups of interest (collaboration): research groups, part of the National System of
Science, Technology and Innovation COLCIENCIAS Colombia Colombia (Colombian Administrative
Department of Science) in: risk management, telecommunications, alternative energy, knowledge
management, artificial intelligence. Research and development centres on ICT’s appropriation
and use (focusing on simulation, education
education and complex systems). Living Labs in risk
management and ICT’s in ENoLL.

constant innovation in the use and application of ICT’s for risk management and its impact on
prevention and response of natural and complex emergencies. The main capabilities of the LL
rely in articulating complex systems from the viewpoint of the pillars of development described
below,
