dehydration. This increases the likelihood of contamination so that the surgical
wound infection rates are rising. The purpose of this study was to determine the
relationship between the old operation with the incidence of wound infection in
postoperative orthopedic patients
Research Methodology : This study design was a descriptive type of research,
correlation studies with the ex post facto approach to tracing back to the
secondary data, patient medical records. The sample was collected with a total
sampling of 178 cases. Population data of orthopedic surgery patients' medical
records during January 1 - December 31, 2009

long category are 39 people (54.93%). Incidence of infection is 8 people
(11.27%), whereas no infection was 63 people (88.73%). So that the results of the
research analysis P value: 0.722 with a significance value (α): 0.05 which states
there is no significant relationship with the operations group should long surgical
wound infection in postoperative orthopedic patients in hospital. Dr. Saiful Anwar
Malang.
Conclusion : There is no significant relationship between the operating time with
surgical site infections in orthopedic patients after surgery (P-value ≥ 0.05).
