n February 2009, a planning and
development committee was
established for an exciting new project
for Minnedosa – a brand new arena.
Known as the Minnedosa Regional
Events Centre, the new arena will be located
on the current fairgrounds in the northwest
corner of town. In addition to a new
two-rink arena, the grounds will include a
number of baseball diamonds, rugby and
soccer pitches. The planning committee is
also hoping to attract a hotellier to build
a brand new hotel on the Events Centre
grounds.
Fundraising for this exciting project
is underway.
A rough timeline has been set out
and if all goes as planned, construction on
Minnedosa’s new arena could begin in the
spring of 2013 with the facility being ready
for use in 2014.
