MTS Testing Methods And Procedures SPECIFICATION SHEET

Low Temperature Cold Boot

The MTS shall power on (boot) and operate normally after un-powered storage at -30C (operational) for no less than one hour prior to application of power. Use MIL-
STD-810G, Method 502.5, Procedure II as a guide. A boot delay of less than 10 minutes is acceptable to allow internal heating for temperatures below -10C.

Low Temperature Storage

The MTS shall operate normally following storage according to MIL-STD-810G, Method 502.5, Procedure I at -40C (non-operational).

High Temperature

The MTS shall operate per MIL-STD-810G, Method 501.5, Procedure I and Procedure II, +60C Operational, +75C Non-Operational (storage). [Battery charge suspended
above +60C cell temperature, MTS installed on tactical plate-carrier vest].

Immersion

The MTS shall meet Operational: MIL-STD-810G, Method 512.5, Procedure I (One meter of water, 30 minutes).

Altitude

The MTS shall meet Operational: MIL-STD-810G Method 500.5, Procedure II, 8,000 feet. Non-Operational (storage): Procedure I, 40,000 feet.

Drop Shock

The MTS, while installed on the tactical plate-carrier vest, shall operate normally during and after being subjected to five drops on the face and five drops on the back
(10 drops total) into 4” of gravel from a height equivalent to a 6’ person falling forward and backward while wearing the vest. Utilize MIL-STD-810G Method 516.6 as a
guideline. May be performed over two UUT samples; surface abrasion and cosmetic damage is acceptable.

Shock

The MTS shall meet Non-Operational: MIL-STD-810G, Method 516.6, Procedure I. 9 shocks in 3 axes at Te=11ms, 2g @ 10Hz, 30g @ 45Hz, 10g @ 1kHz.

Vibration

Workmanship. The MTS shall meet Operational: MIL-STD-810G, Method 514.6, Procedure I, Category 24, Figure 514.5C-17 (20-2000Hz random vibration profile, 0.04g2/
Hz @ 20-1000Hz, -6 dB/octave @ 1000-2000Hz), 3 hours in 3 axes.

Salt Fog

The MTS shall meet Non-operational: MIL-STD-810G, Method 509.5, two 48-hour cycles.

Humidity

The MTS shall meet Non-operational: MIL-STD-810G, Method 507.5, ten 24-hour cycles.

Explosive Atmosphere

The MTS shall meet Operational: MIL-STD-810G, METHOD 511.5, Procedure I.

Dust

The test shall be conducted in accordance with MIL-STD-810G, Method 510.5, Procedure I. Test condition clarification note: Exposure of the MTS (TMC-A1 + UTD-A2 +
HUB-A3 + GPS-A4) according to MIL-STD-810G, Method 510.5, Procedure I for 3 hours operational at 23°C and an additional 3 hours non-operational at the high storage
temperature. This requirement ensures compliance with the dust-immunity portion of a typical IP-67 product.

Sand

Exposure of the MTS (TMC-A1 + UTD-A2 + HUB-A3 + GPS-A4) to MIL-STD-810G, Method 510.5, Procedure II for 3 hours operational at 23°C and an additional 3 hours
non-operational at the high storage temperature. Minor surface abrasion is considered acceptable and does not constitute a test failure.
