DETAIL AND SECTION DRAWINGS CHECKLIST

Download the following details:

Beam Detail, Column Base Detail, Footing Detail, Sill Detail, Eave Detail, Ridge Detail,
Exterior Wall Detail, Interior Wall Detail, Concrete Walkway Detail, Handrail Detail, Concrete
Stair Detail, Shrub Detail,, Tree Detail,

Details should be shown on drawing sheets that are appropriate to the main drawing. If
there is no room for the detail, details should be placed on a separate detail sheet or
placed on other drawings to maximize the space on the sheet. Details are created using a
scale of 1” = 1’-0”. Insert the details on the Layout tabs using a scale factor of 1/12. To
add leaders use the Multileader command and set the style to LEADER DETAILS-12. To add
dimensions set the Dimension style to ARCHITECTURAL DETAILS-12.

Basement Plan: Chimney Detail, Pilaster Detail, Beam Detail, Column Base Detail,
Footing Detail
Floor Plan: Sill Detail, Exterior Wall Detail, Interior Wall Detail
Elevations: Eave Detail, Ridge Detail
Site Plan: Concrete Walkway Detail, Handrail Detail, Concrete Stair Detail, Shrub Detail,
Tree Detail

Beam Detail Drawing

Indicate and call out column (modify size to match structural calculations)
Indicate and call out floor joists (modify size to match structural calculations)
Indicate and call out beam (modify size to match structural calculations)

Footing Detail Drawing

Indicate and call out drain tile
Indicate and call out foundation wall
Indicate and call out basement slab
Indicate and call out gravel fills
Dimension height and width of footing
Indicate and call out any interior wall finishes

Sill Detail Drawing

Indicate and call out finished wall materials
Indicate and call out finished grade (modify elevation to match Site Plan)
Indicate and call out floor joists size and spacing (modify size to match structural
calculations)
Indicate and call out subfloor material and thickness
Indicate and call out finished floor material and thickness
Indicate and call out fire cut

Column Base Detail Drawing

Indicate and call out column footing. Show height, width and length dimensions
Indicate and call out column base plate
Indicate and call out basement slab. Show slab thickness
Indicate and call out gravel fills
Indicate and call out column (modify size to match structural calculations)

Ridge Detail Drawing

Indicate and call out ridge construction components and indicate their size
Indicate and call out roof rafter size and spacing (modify size to match structural
