AutoCAD Engineer & Assistant Project Manager
Duties included using architectural drawings to incorporate metal panel, curtai
n wall, storefront, and
ornamental systems by means of AutoCAD using the architects original idea and in
serting IBG system to develop in-house shop drawings.
Specializing in the metal panel division at IBG, was responsible for the take o
ff & ordering of metal panel & related materials and creating submittal, fabrica
tion drawings and panel layouts for each individual job worked on.
Coordinated with the panel shop for fabricating, loading & worked with the job
foreman for installations at each jobsite.
Glass & Glazing aspect consisted of creating submittal drawings, material take
off & ordering, and then once the job was ready for fabrication, would create ex
act size cultists & glass orders using approved shop drawings. Then created fabr
ication drawings for the shop for cutting and manufacturing of windows, curtain
wall and storefront systems & other misc metalwork.

Duties included transferring electrical and mechanical equipment onto architect
ural floor plans by
means of AutoCAD using mark-ups and verbal instructions, also the drawing of det
ails, assemblies,
legends and schedules.
Kept records of drawings and of submissions that left the office, also helped t
o redesign new
department standards and operations. Made trips to jobsites to inspect materials
and work in progress.

Graduated with high school diploma and certificate of 3 years in Drafting and De
sign
Majored in Technical Drafting, course emphasized the fundamentals of drafting, o
rthographic projection, proper use of sections and views. Dimensioning and toler
ance as they relate to cost effective manufacturing and interchangeability.
- Electromechanical phase consisted of schematics, logic diagrams and hook-ups o
f analog and digital printed circuit boards including details, photo masters, as
semblies and bills of material.
- Architectural phase consisted of components and terminology involved in the de
sign of residential buildings, including joists and beams. Types of loads, loadi
ng reaction of wood members, design loads and stresses, and methods of beam desi
gn. Final exam was on Massachusetts State Building Code for Residential Dwelling
including handicapped requirements.
- A highlight of the program is more than 1000 hours using AutoCAD R12 including
AME.
