Human Resources Financial Planning & Headcount Tracking Manager, 1998-2007
Managed a $218MM zero-based budget for the Corporate Human Resources division, a
nd tracked corporate headcount that reported actual against authorized headcount
data for approximately 10,000 employees. Generate salary and open position dat
a to feed to the budget planning and applicant tracking systems. Created writte
n correspondences and spreadsheets, developed and evaluated metrics to ensure th
ey were linked to the corporation's strategic goals. Interviewed candidates and
filled open positions, trained staff, and executed development plans or discipl
inary action.
Significant Accomplishments:
*Achieved expense reductions of $3.8MM, exceeding the targets established by the
Controller department.
*Consulted with Human Resources Directors of each HR discipline to discuss expen
ditures, budget planning and performance, strategic plans, metrics, organization
al changes, headcount, severance, process improvements, and highly sensitive con
fidential employee information. Recognized and rewarded as a "go to" person for
resolving issues.
*Acted as liaison with the Controller department to successfully achieve corpora
te financial targets within non-negotiable deadlines. Presented financial data
to the Chief Corporate Human Resources director and the Controller department se
nior officers.
*Identified potential plan and forecast problems and/or risks, pinpointed opport
unities for additional short and long-term expense reductions, and identified fu
nding for unplanned expenses.
*Redesigned, implemented and managed the post-conversion of the headcount tracki
ng process in three months, ensuring timely discontinuation of the old payroll s
ystem to the new Ceridian payroll system. Researched and resolved business unit
managers' data integrity issues, receiving high customer satisfaction ratings.
*Investigated a general ledger posting and payment issue regarding the Flexible
Spending Account with the Controller department and key members of the Benefits
team, resulting in a reimbursement from the vendor of $1.8MM.

Human Resources Planning/Analysis and Records Manager, 1994-1997


Directed the budget plan processes for the Corporate Human Resources and Corpora
te Staff divisions, including the development of procedures, timetables, and man
agement training. Created written correspondences and spreadsheets. Managed em
ployee personnel records, service awards, vendor contract negotiations, employee
subsidized parking, special projects, staff training and development.*

*Achieved financial planning and forecasting initiatives within the timeframes e

rporate headcount and expenses by 1,300 positions.
*Improved records operational efficiency by modifying records management operati

are in compliance with regulatory requirements.
