Part of an international A&E firm, Kahn South serves Medical, Institutional, Aut
omotive, Industrial, Educational and Corporate Office sectors in the southeaster
n US from the Carolinas to Texas [10 employees; c. $5M in annual fees]
Senior Architect/Project Manager
Assisted in Project Marketing (including RFPs), Architectural Scope of Work, Con
tract Development and Negotiations. Developed Project implementation schedule,
manpower budgeting, and Project Kick-Off requirements with internal staff and co
nsultants. Also planned Documents Production (drawings and specifications) and
various delivery methods based on specific client requirements.
Additionally responsible for Code Research, Specification development and produc
tion, and management of financial aspects of projects. The latter included man
hour projections, monitoring progress vs. budget, consultant negotiations and bi
lling, and Client invoicing and collection efforts. Also provided for contract
scope of work modifications and negotiations and document production. Supervise
d in-house staff working on projects assigned to me and oversaw all related proj
ect operations.

* Exceeded schedule and profit goal by 20% on numerous projects (Project list av

and budgets on most projects.
* Developed, produced, and managed means and methods for the Facility Assessment
on three Veterans administration facilities in Alabama. These assessments, whi
ch included projected budgets for specific issues at each site as well as total
budgets, led to award of architectural projects to us.
* Achieved Board-approved Associate status by July of 2007 based upon performanc

* Developed in-house lunch seminars for staff that covered principles of project
conception, development, and delivery using CSI Project Manual as a Guide. Dev
eloped similar seminars focused on Specification Writing.
HOAR Construction-Project Management Division 11/03 - 6/04
A regional provider of construction, program, and project management services.
(150 employees, c. $150M/year). The PM division manages projects for educationa
l, banking and other corporate and public clients.
Project Manager
Developed management means and documents to maintain the status of each expansi
on site for a planned 100 branch expansion program that had as many as 45 "sites
" active at any one time. Coordinated with Architects, their engineers, Civil a
nd Geotechnical Engineering, the Owner's Furniture, Fixture and Equipment consul
tants as well as the Bank's in-house Data/Communications and Security personnel.
Related duties included Due Diligence related to Real Estate, Legal, Civil Engin
eering, Geotechnical Engineering and Surveying. Also determined the acceptabili
ty for specific branch plan types, permitting requirements, and environmental as
pects. Upon acceptance, managed the development of Construction Documents, Bidd
ing and Contract administration and client move-in. (See Page 2)
