CURRENT RESEARCH AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Performed TASAT modeling and data analysis in support of several major programs.
Responsible for the surface texture modeling and image analysis performed in su
pport of the MESSA program, and developed a unique analysis method currently bei
ng employed in advanced materials studies for TASAT development. Assisted in the
development of a novel technique for extracting true surface reflectance proper
ties from satellites in low Earth orbit. Assisted SATAC with satellite model val
idation. Provided satellite observation timing analysis, stellar targets and mod
eled artificial target dynamics for the ALDAD program, and assisted in on-site t
esting and data analysis of system
hardware. Performed stellar calibrations of new sensor systems for MSSS, and pro
vided airmass transmission estimates for specific nights and independent estimat
es of telescope optical transmission. Provided analysis support of the ECHO proj
ect, and wrote custom MATLAB code as required for project support.
SKILLS
Experience with TASAT, MATLAB, STK, SMT, IDASS, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
Modeling and simulation of radiometric signatures of artificial objects includin
g satellites, characterization of intrinsic material properties and multi-band s
urface reflectances, modeling of optical systems and sensor response.
Extensive experience in both theoretical and observational astronomy, including
familiarity with CCD and near-IR detectors (1.6 - 2.2 *m IR, 400 - 700 nm optic
al), image reduction and analysis, data visualization, absolute radiometry and a
strometry (same bands as above). Familiarity and experience with optical telesco
pe design, construction, and operation, optical
diagnostic and alignment procedures, and telescope operation.
