The project work constitutes a major component in most of the professional programs. It is to
be carried out with due care and should be executed with seriousness by the student.
TYPE OF PROJECT
Majority of the students are expected to work out a real life project in some development
laboratories, educational institutions / software companies. It is suggested that the project is to
be chosen which should have some direct relevance in day-to-day activities of the students.
Students are encouraged to work in the areas listed at the end of the project guidelines.
The Project Report should have 100 - 150, typed pages in A-4 sheet.
1- Page Size: Good quality, white A4 size paper should be used for typing the project report.
2- Margin Specification:
(i) Left Margin : 1.25 inch
(ii) Right Margin : 1.00 inch
(iii) Top Margin : 1.00 inch
(iv) Bottom Margin : 1.00 inch
3- Page Number: All text pages excluding the cover page of the project report should be
numbered at the bottom center of the page.
4- Font Size:
Running Matter: - 12, Times New Roman, Double Spacing, both side typing.
Paragraph Heading: - 16, Times New Roman, Bold.
Sub Heading: - 14, Times New Roman, Bold.
Binding Type: - Black color, Hard Bound with gold embossing.
Only one Copy of the project report in bound form is to be submitted to the Project In-Charge,
Department of IT, IMS-Noida. Another copy of the Project Report must be retained by the
student which should be produced before the examiner at the time of the Viva-voice.
PROJECT EVALUATION
As per the C.C.S. University norms the Project Report shall be evaluated for 200 marks and
marking scheme for project evaluation will be as follows

Viva-voce and class presentation is compulsory and forms part of evaluation. A student in order
to be declared successful in the project must secure 50% marks in each component (i) Sessional
and (ii) Semester End Exam. Pass in both the components is compulsory. If a student submits
project report as per the activity schedule and fails to attend the viva, at end of the semester,
her/his Project will remains incomplete and should contact Project In-Charge, Department of IT,
IMS-Noida.
Unfair cases of copied versions of the project synopsis and project reports will be sent to
Unfair Means Committee headed by Executed Director, IMS-Noida for action
4. SYNOPSIS STRUCTURE
The project proposal should be prepared in consultation with the guide. The project
proposal should clearly state the objectives and environment in which it will be prepared by
the student. It should strictly follow the points given below:
1) Cover and Title page
2) Synopsis Approval Performa duly filled and signed by the student
3) Index
4) Acknowledgement
5) Introduction and objective of the project
6) Analysis (Feasibility Study, DFD 0 Level, 1- Level and 2 Level/ER Diagram etc)
7) H/W and S/W Requirement
8) Table and Structure, Number of Modules, Detail of Modules, Data Structure
9) Types of Reports
10) Scope of future application
5. PROJECT REPORT STRUCTURE
Students are suggested to use languages and database environment for front end and back end
like V.B., C, C++, SQL, Oracle etc., for making their project.
Projects should not be developed using the packages like Dbase III, Foxpro, and Visua Foxpro.
Projects can be developed by using the combination of VB as the front end and MS Access as
Back end. Students can also develop applications using tools/languages/Software / not listed
above if they are part of latest technologies.
