Read the text and do the activities that follow ( Leia o texto e faça as atividades que se
seguem):

1-To choose a specific career is a very difficult decision. It may be even more difficult when
this career is related to the business world. Globalization in business means more competition,
constant adaptation, and a good command of some foreign languages.

2-Some of the qualities needed for a successful career in business are: to be able to deal with
people from different cultures and to understand their traditions and behavior; to have the
necessary flexibility to get along well with people at all levels, from subordinates to top
managers, from colleagues to customers; to be adaptable, for you will probably move around
quite often during your productive years.

3-Before you decide to work for a company there are some aspects to take into consideration
besides salary: travel benefits, a good health plan, a solid pension fund, a friendly
environment.

4-Finally, naturally, make sure that your family supports your decision for “no man is an
island”, as an important writer once said.
