To prepare test plans, reports and other necessary documentation (per FAR 25 & 2
1 regulations, AC 25.562, 25-17 guidance and AS8049A) in support of Federal Avia
tion Administration (FAA) certification and compliance with Airframe manufacture
r (Boeing/Airbus) requirements for aircraft passenger seat products.
To plan and conduct stress tests (16g/14g Dynamic, 9g Static, Abuse and Cycle) o
n product models and prototypes and to recommend product improvements for final
certification of TSO products (TSO 127a, C39b etc) for single aisle and long ran
ge aircrafts.
To certify products for flammability requirements (oil burn, vertical burn, heat
release: special condition, toxicity) per 14CFR 25.853 (as well as installer re
quirements like ABD0031)
To coordinate communication with FAA Designated Engineer Representatives (DER),
FAA engineers and customer/airframe manufacturer regarding certification issues.
To work with engineering group to come up with design solution as a part of prod
uct development and to meet customer requirements.
To ensure compliance with WEBER procedures (QAP, QPM, WPM), PSP (Partnership for
safety plan between Weber and FAA) and Certification Internal Procedures (CIP).
Review drawings, service bulletin, Maintenance manual etc.
